Didn't Chael get busted for using PEDs' after that first fight?

Anderson was gettin his ass beat for the whole five rounds (or 4 n a half) on that one man. I really thought he was gon lose, but he pulled it out.

It'd be cool if Chael had just a little respect to go with his attitude, but I still love his "you aint shit" mentality lol. That fool said "I'm willing to give Anderson a shot at the true belt" lmao. Gotta love it.

Actually though, after the fight he did give Anderson his props and said he had no excuses and just simply got beat. So he does have some respect. He just saves it for after the fight. And I respect that mentality. That's how I am in VF, I don't care if i'm going against Fudo or that one Lion player (forgot his name, Chibita I think), you goin down lol. Can't step into the match all shaky, and nervous, just go hard on em.

Gonna be exciting that's for sure. Chael aint scared of Anderson at all n goes hard.

You never know... but Women's MMA just isn't developed enough. Rousey has spent less than 3 minutes in her professional career in the cage.

She'll probably win, but I can't pick her that easily to be the favorite.

Chael Sonnen and Stephan Bonnar were the post fight commentators over on FuelTV. Best line of the night came from Sonnen:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">"(After dominating a fight) you have to be a complete boob to be caught (submitted) at the end."</div></div>

I about fell off the couch with laughter.

I personally think Ronda looks better than Tate in every facet, but either way she was very impressive..

A bit of both...estrogen and anger do not make a pretty mix.

I got to watch the throws and the armbar in person. It was amazing and terrifying all at the same time.

On a side note it looks like Rousey is the next honest-to-God WMMA stars.

Cyborg will be a good fight. TBH, this is like watching mma circa 1998

Yeah. WMMA hasn't gotten to the point where the fighters are so well-rounded they can still handle a world-class specialist.

Or maybe, Rousey is just that good.
There are guys such as Giva "The Arm Collector" Santana who, for example, won his first 10 MMA fights via armbar.
Another good example is UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares. Once that guy gets a hold of any leg of most fighters in his weight class, he's probably taking it home with him, lol.

One thing I don't quite get in MMA is what are you supposed to do when someone won't tap out? Potentially ending their career seems like a shitty option. Further, it's NOT good for the sport to have women snapping each other's arms like that, that actually crosses the line a little bit to me.

These fighters are proud people, but the ref should be able to stop the fight before there's seriously bodily injury taking place. Just like in boxing, there are times where someone will get hit hard enough to knock them senseless, but they'll still get up for a standing eight-count. Just because the guy can stand up, it doesn't mean he can safely take another hard shot or series of shots without suffering potential injury. I don't see how not-tapping is THAT different. Just because you can not tap even though you should, how is it different than the boxer who should stay down but won't?

The ref has the responsibility to protect the fighter, especially when they can't, or won't, protect themselves. Either that, or the corner should have thrown in the towel to protect their fighter. You just can't do nothing when it is clear bones are about to be broken.

^Interesting p.o.v. but being in pain (or not due to adrenaline) and being consciously aware that you're about to have one of your bones broken is not the same as being unconscious and still wanting to stand and fight. Fighters who refuse to tap are usually conscious, they know the risks. I can agree if the fighter in question has been rocked and then caught in a submission.
During that scenario the ref should ask the fighter if he wants to tap (verbally submit) and if he sees that the fighter is out of it, definitely stop the fight before any more damage occurs.

@Shadowdean, Bob Sapp did come close to knocking somebody out at the weigh-ins

    LOL Tony.
Grown ass man rule. If they don't want to tap, they deal with the consequences.
