sup. The trick to watching these movies without upgrading windows media player is to download the following:

http://avifile.sourceforge.net/Win32_dmo.tgz

unzip that to C:\windows\system on most windows machines.
those are the wmv9 codecs.

Next go here and choose one of the download sites:

http://www.inmatrix.com/files/zoomplayer_download.shtml

This is zoomplayer, it does whatever windows media player does, but it's nicer. It will play wmv9 movies once you unzip the codecs listed earlier. You can associate it with all wmv's, but if choose not to, be careful trying to open wmv9 movies by double clicking them (it will often hang your machine).

PS: this has worked for 4/5 people I've tried it with, but you might run into an issue. Let me know if you do.

Latest clip mirrored. Clipping the black borders around the game screen saved some space, and I used that space to improve the brightness and contrast. Enjoy. The dog cookie samples are not for personal consumption.

put codecs into c:\winnt\system. still no workey.
zoomplayers comment:
"the video could not be played, check that a compatible codec is installed".

Very strong Wolf in the first few matches. The rest of the clip features nothing but Kage vs Kage action. The last round of the very last match is quite interesting:

WOW. Really enjoyed this one, since I play Kage. But man, I don't recall seeing that much machi play in one clip ever before... It was funny to see that first Kage player get backthrown after he +ed and tried to walk away though! lol.

And anybody know why this vid is so damn bright?

I think I'm blind...

I probably just being picky, but winning by a time up seems to be the hoser way to win.
I'd rather lose with dignity.

Now to choke the bandwith at work...add this to the library.

no loss of dignity for winning from a time out. It's the guy that lost that failed. If my opponent can't take my bar away in the time given to him....

For windows NT, it's possible you need to put them in system32. Search for files or folders with the .ax extension and if they're all in system, that's where these DLL's go. If they're all in system32, that's where the DLL's go.

If you put the dll's in system32 and it still doesn't play, you probably should just cave in and get zoomplayer. There's another app called BSplayer that's supposed to handle wmv9, but when I tried it it would always crash at the end of the movie. So you had to stop the movie 1 second short. It's worth considering if you're desperate.

lol. It looks like Daioh got one too many "it's too dark!" emails and just snapped. "you want brightness? I'll give you brightness." ... the latest daioh makes you think of smushing your face against the glass of the copying machine and letting it run a dozen times. I did what I could to correct this (it felt weird making a daioh vid even darker, but I'm pretty sure lau's stage isn't supposed to look like a cheery spring day).
The result is 12 megs larger (I've resigned myself to the larger filesizes) but has a less washed out look with more color saturation.

PS: Is anyone downloading these? I think it's now a fun exercise in learning how to use virtualdub.

already tried that out (putting in system32). still doesnt work.
hehe, Im am using bsplayer as default, so wont help me either.
