I just hope you can find time and desire to come to my house when my 360 returns. Should have a VF night again sooner than later.

 

Yeah, I think I already told you though that this quarter it just can't work out. I got class every other day of the week, to include Saturday mornings.

I should actually be going to class right this min(for my 6pm - 10pm), but I'm laying in bed on my laptop because I'm running a fever(long story).

But don't worry, I'll have time to after this quarter ends(Dec 19th for me, and when I get back from christmas on the east coast).

When I get the chance, I can bring my 360 though.

Only fighting game I remember shitting on was MK vs DC and that was only in jest. Unless me preffering VF = me shitting on the other games?

Funny coming from the guy that thought Kaminari was the entire of VFDC and couldn't even bring himself to look around and see that people here are actually enjoying T6BR.

Don't know how this thread turned into a thread about Tekken but....
I've been playing T6 for almost two years, and I have gone threw all the patches that they had right up to T6br. so I have played the hell out of this game. Although the game is great there are still flaws in the game that I don't like that make the game feel a little inferior to VFvanilla. No matter what Tekken it will be or what VF it will be the problems will always be the same. Tekkens system allows far too much random things to happen, where VF system tries its best to contain them.
Things like being able to duck at -9 (some moves even more than that), mid crushes from disadvantage, strange hit boxes, safe mids that grant juggle, no VF elbow class moves, no guaranteed throw situations....etc, encourages a little too much random play.
There have been so many situations that I have seen where certain things should have worked but for some unexplainable reason fails. Situations where one player was playing smarter out guessing his opponent but then random "Tekken" shit happens that cause them to lose. So yes, Tekken is inferior. It's still hella fun but sometimes dealing with these issues can just make you not want to bother.

I think the vibe Slide is talking about on these boards is that, compared to other boards such as SRK and TZ, where some people who don't like VF will simply say "I don't play VF, it's just not my thing", whereas on VFDC, some people tend to say "I don't play those games because they're inferior to my VF", and yet, these are being said by people who are mostly beginner level players in the other games (which goes without saying - because to be high level at one thing, you need to cut out time from VF, to invest in the other game.)

Some people will just find a reason to hate BR though. Any reason. EmpNova even compared scenario campaign to quest mode FFS.

On VFDC, it's ok to play a 2D game like BB or KOF. It's okay to like SC. It's even ok to like DoA. But if you say you're putting VF on hiatus to play Tekken? Man, that's just heresy.

 

I'm not reading through ten pages but I figure I'll try to get decent at this game again. One of the OG ST players, when I see him at gatherings is always trying to get me to play. I don't really have time to invest in the new games so I figure ST and VF I could get good at since I'm familiar with those the most. T6Br is pretty sweet but I'm just not a big fan of the mechanics. Hopefully whenever I make it to China they'll have a scene....doubt it but stranger shit has happened.

 

If theres white noise on these forums then VF isn't dead cause someone is still at least thinking about it. If there were no posts and the forum would just 'fade away' I would start to get worried.

Personally havent touched VF for couple weeks now..

 

Man, the site's (vfdc) still up, that's how I know there's still life... I mean those DOA cats at doacentral.com are still kickin', and none of them are complaining about not havin' a part 5... They still run tourneys and everything, so let's just make due with what we got...
