Hyper Battle Mode is one of the tournament modes in Quest Mode in VF4evo. Once you have beaten all tournaments in the Quest Mode you unlock Battle options in the versus menu. This enables you to play versus with many modes like Hyper Battle (No Move Recovery), Survival (1 life bar), Ironman (1000 life/1 life bar), Seesaw (1 life bar shared by opponents-damage to opponent adds to you/vice-versa), etc. A very nice touch for added gameplay elements.

 

Yeah it sounds very comprehensive to me.It's funny as I was reading PSW magazine before ( UK's best selling independent ps2 mag ) and they said quest was disapointing since it was just the same as kumite and characters new moves didn't add much to the play and also that very little had been changed.Unfourtunately I suppose only if your an addict will you notice animations being changed/initiative frames differing/guard cancellable moves being employed etc... and to some guy in an office reviewing lots of games a week he's just not going to notice the attention to detail gone into this " overhaul ".They gave it 9/10 anyway ( only few have scored 10 ) and prefer it miles more than Tekken or DOA.

 

PSW must not have the mad gaming skillz. Nuff said.

 

No they do like their games and I generally find I agree with their opinions it's just that they can boil down a review into good points and bad points and the bad points are usually silly ones.For example they've played Enter the matrix and Silent hill3 and in the previews couldn't stop praising them.In the box at the end though they said about ETM "have they bitten off more than they can chew?" and for SH3 said "well.. it is a sequel.".you know silly throw away comments like these.

 

tekken 4 sucks. i completed it all in one night, characters and everything.. personally i play VF for its replayabilty and the fact its a really good pvp game.

the video rules though!

there is no quest mode in tekken 4,just basics story/arcade mode,that's why this game will be only good provided you play in versus against a human challenger,that's all
