OMG Transformers is the cure for cancer...it was a very solid movie, I would of liked to see more of the decepticons.

Cure for cancer? Man its not that damn great. Better Than FF and Spidey 3, but those kinda sucked. It focused way too much on SAm(spike) in the cartoon Spike was a whiny bitch nobody cared about. Here he takes up 90 percent of the Screen time. Shia Lebeouf stammers so much during his delivery its like he cant do a scene without getting coked up in his trailer first. His young Woody Alllen bit was funny the first viewing, but if you watch this movie more than once it'll wear thin.

The funniest part was where the fat dude ran through a plate glass window when the cops raided Anthony andersons place.
The Prime vs Megatron fight shouldve been the action set piece. Instead it was rushed, disappointing (Prime got duffed out) , and they took the easy way out by having them fall off a building rather than fight it out untill someones laid out. At least when Prime and Bonecrusher fell off the bridge, they finished the fight on the ground. I expected this to really suck after seeing the ISLAND on CABLE. Thankfully it wasnt that bad.

The best part was how they integrated the Live action with the CGi so well. The end battle sequence as a whole is woorth the price of admission alone.

Saw it 3x (Mon, Tues, Wed) and it rocked every time. There are definitely some parts that can be trimmed down to get the movie under 2 hours, but overall, it was an incredible display of CG. Story and plotwise; well, it's based off a cartoon that had a thin story/plot anyway. Can't really hate on that. Coming from a longtime fan of the series (and toys), I think they were very faithful to the license.

Spoiler warning...in case the 2 or 3 people that haven't seen it are reading this thread. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I think it would have been a better movie if Barricade would have crushed Sam and his bitch in the first chase scene. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif The Decepticons needed more screen time! Bonecrusher shows up only to get killed a few minutes later (one of the better parts of the movie at least) and Brawl/Devastator lasted only a bit longer. Megatron and Starscream's infamous relationship deserved a bit more than the one line it got. Also, Sam should NOT have been the one to bring down Megatron. Prime just took a beating in the final battle and that's just wrong. Hopefully, the sequel will focus more on the robots and less on the humans. Still an 8/10 for the action.

    couple of trivial things...

FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE 80s CARTOON!

in the generation one cartoon, bonecrusher is the right leg of devastator after the constructicons merged. in bay's movie, devastator and bonecrusher were two different decepticons.

bumblebee was a vw bug. here, he is a chevy camaro.

jazz was some type of sportscar (porshe maybe) . here, he is a Pontiac Solstice.

frenzy was a tape that popped out of soundwave's chest. he looked identical to rumble, but just a different color(rumble was blue, frenzy was red). here, he is that weird lookin robot who hacks into the network. he was first a boombox, but later changed into megan fox's cell phone.

ratchet was an medic ambulance. here, he is a hummer H2.

megatron was a gun usually held by starscream after transformation. here, he is an aircraft.

ironhide was a red van. here, he is a GMC TopKick C4500 pickup truck.

barricade was not part of the G1 series. his only fictional appearance is in the Dreamwave comics Micromaster series. here, he is a S281 Saleen (the cop car).

the only transformers in bay's film which resembled the cartoons are optimus and starscream.

spike and sparkplug look fairly similar to their cartoon counterpart. spike is just as nerdy and sparkplug is just as chubby.

still a movie which exceeded all my expectations...being a fan of the series.

I wonder what they are going to do with the Constructions if they are in a sequel as some rumors have suggested. They going to change names since Bonecrusher is already dead and Brawl was mistakenly called Devastator in the movie?

Samcarried the movie into a farce, A starky and Hutch or Dukes of Hazzard movie satire.

The best part of vthis movie was MEGAN FOX, not Shia LeDOUCHE.
She's allthat kept me from walking out of the theatre. Kept my interest while I had to wait untilthe last half hour to get a Decent fight scene in a 2 and a half hour movie.

Of course the obvious reason why this was 90 percent Spike Witbitchy in the movie is because if it was 90 percent Autobots\ deceps, the budget wouldve been $500 million.

For the guy complaining Frank Welker didnt get to voice Megatron, it wouldn't have made a difference, Megatron got barely 5 lines. Shia LeDOUCHE got about 500.

I liked Shia in the movie. It was a good direction to take it I thought and I'm not usually one for misplaced "humor" in action movies.

    This movie rocked btw

I just saw the movie today and it was good for a Micheal Bay movie. Every now and then the camera would be at odd angles but besides that it was alright.
One of the main reasons I saw the movie was because of the 1-18-08 teaser. It was awesome.
I wonder what they'll do for part II.
