Hmm, I wish I could answer this with 100% confidence, but I believe it's the same as attempting a Submission: the shine should function better than mashing.

I think I just spin too slow for it to work too well for me.

I'm sure if you spin the stick too fast it doesn't work either...

I'm having a hard time with the ground game, seems when I try to do transitions my fighter just flails his arms back and forth.

It was annoying as i had a clean 5-0-0 record until I got caught in a triangle hold, and had no idea what to do when my opponent was slowly transitioning into it, I was pretty much helpless.

We're talking about spinning the stick vs mashing the buttons in certain situations. The transitions on the ground don't really have to be done especially fast or slow... Just try to do the motion correctly and you should get them pretty easily.

I was talking about when you shoot in on someone and you're battling for the take-down, is it it better to spin the right stick or to mash the buttons. Spinning does seem to work well but you have to spin fast...

What B.Feck recommended is definitely the fastest way to spin the stick, but I only do that if I'm trying to submit someone or trying to escape a submission, if I'm shooting in, I don't like to move my hands too much cause I have to be ready to transition/block a transition as soon as we hit the ground.

Last night I knocked someone out with THE FIRST PUNCH! LOL... I was using Anthony Johnson and got the single collar tie during the first ~15 seconds of the match, did one special uppercut (RB+ Right Punch) and got a flash knockout, I laughed super hard cause it was so strange and lucky. Someone did the same thing to me with Rich Franklin later and it wasn't as funny /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif ...

My favorite match right now is:

Me as Chieck (spelling?) Congo vs Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is so damn powerful and his chin is insanely good so fighting him is always an epic battle. I usually use Congo, Karo Parisian and Michael Bisping... I just like those three guys for some reason...

Definitely get really familiar with each styles "special transitions..." The special transitions are really mean if you learn what positions you're able to use them from...

i want to work on it too. I am an expert in fun. And have tons of great ideas. I am consistently surprised by some of the basic features missing from games that can add an extra dimension of fun.
Let me work on UFC 2010.

I can neither confirm or deny that such a product even exists!

When a "basic feature" is missing from a game, it's rarely because someone on the development side simply didn't have the idea for it. If development was as simple as making sure you come up with all the great ideas, the landscape of gaming would be very different! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I think THQ did a good job with this game, I've played much worse. My only complaint so far is that navigating the menus takes too long... I WANNA FIGHT! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

They really gotta make a patch for penalties on pulling for ranked.

My record's getting worse and worse as I take my losses, and then having large portions of my wins invalidated by yanks.

Yeah, never seen so many pullers in a fighting game. Makes SFIV look like it's the game of great sportsmanship cause you only get pulled on 9 out of 10 times in SFIV. UFC is ~10 out of 10 times.

I just DO NOT understand why they have to patch in penalties for pulling?!? It's obvious that people are going to do it so why not program the "puller penalty" into the game in the first place??? I think they must have thought about it because the game "tries" to save pretty quickly after you win but it's not fast enough for the cord-pulling experts.

Wayyyy too many pullers in this game. It's truly ridiculous...

If there's a disconnect and one person is about to lose, the game should know and give you the win. If there's a disconnect and one person is in the mount, it should just be an auto-win right there.

Apparently invisible chi manipulation only works on your students that are willing to play along.

If that shit really worked, why would he even let the MMA guy get close to him??? Just use your chi power to flip him on his head then levitate him and slam him back down like 5 times and that's a KO! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I wonder if he students just want to believe that kind of stuff is possible so badly that they are kind of brainwashed. I've seen that type of thing in vids many times and I just don't get why the students are willing to throw themselves around pretending it's some invisible force slamming them into the ground... Whatever...

I was thinking about this today and may have come up with a solution. Sixtwo! Pay attention! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

When someones network drops, it must be obvious to the game (or server) which side of the connection failed. Once that has been determined, the game could declare it a "no-contest" victory for the other person. Think of it like an injury.

But sometimes your network just craps out. You weren't trying to pull, so it wouldn't seem fair to take a loss. Something should still be marked on your record though. In that case, have a record of "injuries" or "no-contests" on someones record. That way when you go to play someone, you can see how many injuries they have. If they have a bunch, don't play them because its a fair indication of the chance they will drop.

On another subject, does anyone have this game on PS3? Cause I've got a gripe to pick about the online play. Its awful. Lag city. We're talking like CVS2 lag. Tekken5DR lag! I'm looking to trade my ps3 copy for a 360 copy, but I don't want to drop another $40-50 for the same game.

BTW, I'm 8-0-0 in online ranked right now. Would have been 10, but 2 people dropped on me after a submission.

Hey guys, I may have found an option select in this game.

You know you can guard cancel certain moves, where when you do the attack if you hit block right beforehand you'll cancel the animation.

Well, I was guard cancelling the Muay Thai's flying knee with Wanderlei Silva over and over, just as a fake and a way to get the guy to extend himself. Finally, one of the fakes, he goes for a shot.

Instead of the flying knee, Wanderlei goes right into the Muay Thai intercepting knee takedown defense, and the guy goes out like a light.

    Just something interesting.
