Bingo. It's not even about fanboyism (I still own two Sony consoles), it's more about making the best choice to play an awesome game under the best conditions. PSN never had the investment or server infrastructure put into it, that MS can obviously deliver from their computing business. £30 a year is really no big deal for an adult gamer, especially when you don't buy many other new games... ;)

The "used games can play on PS4" statement from the Sony prez is a welcome assurance, but I do feel, as far as enjoying online fighters is concerned into next-gen, they really need to make some improvements to the service as it stands.

I had heard once that Xbox Live provides some degree of network infrastructure on its own that Sony doesn't. I also know devs on PS3 have to provide their own for games, so if it's true that XBL does this, it's probably down to the individual game as to which will have comparable network quality and whatnot.

XBL really doesn't offer anything you can't do better on PC, and on PC it's all done for free. I realize there's a significant convenience factor for people with XBL and a console, but being granted access to basic web functions and online gameplay the price of a game per year feels more like a shakedown than a service to me.

Obvs. this is a pretty tired old debate but it's something to consider again given that consoles are moving more and more to a service model of selling everyone things, rather than just selling the $60 game and DLC.

Did you think about anything you wrote there? Two points: 1) Steam, 2) VF

I'm not sure what your previous post is even about. It's barely intelligible and needlessly passive aggressive. I'll do the latter as well.

I realize now that you may find the context of my post a challenge, so I will try to explain it in a way you're able to understand.

    1. You do not have to pay to access any feature on Steam. You do, however, have to pay for games. Paying for games is a given, I hope? All the web apps XBL offers are accessible from a web browser for free. VOIP kind of goes without saying - endless options there - tailored to games or not.

    2. Since it's Sega's decision to release FS on any platform, we'd be talking about one game in particular, not the services offered by Microsoft for Xbox Live. Xbox Live is a service that grants you access to specific features, FS is a game you can buy for your Xbox 360 console. Get it?

Note that Lindbergh, VF5's arcade hardware, is a purpose-built PC itself. A bad port of 19 year old game isn't a much of a point to raise. The hardware and OSes on PC and in consoles simply isn't comparable. Model 2 Emulator for Windows runs VF2 decently well, though.

I think I understand your position and post dude: you don't play FS on Live. Uncool story.
