Well i still have the original disk but no saturn (it got stolen a long time ago when we got robbed lol). Its was a very good game at the time. And was a mixture between VF and fighting viper characters. I don't remember too many specifics about the game cause i was little but i remembered they had a bunch of characters plus some weird ones like VF kids, rent a hero, the girl from virtua cop, siba, a racing car,a green duck (lol) and other good stuff. Maybe youtube has some vids. Speaking of this i wish they would remake this one game i like called Fuun Saiki or dark legend in english. It was such a fun game but the flaw was that it was broken. Every character had easy to pull of infinites. lol

Don't forget the super secret character:
    The AM-2 palm tree

I was dumbstruck when I first heard about that one...

lol oh yeah i forgot about that. For some reason when i think about that character i picture it as corn instead of a tree. I guess cause i haven't seen or plaed the game in years.

If only Fighters Megamix had had the engine of VF2 (FM must have been at 60 fps but I'm pretty sure it was just 240p instead of 480i) it would have been the best fighting game on console until Soul Calibur came out on Dreamcast.

That game was such a wasted opportunity...

But heaven forbid a Tekken/VF crossover. I could never hide my disgust for Tekken's chavvy, "fast and furious" overall feel and look.

I've always been a Sega nazi. Death before Tekken :p

Are you aware that you could choose which system engine to play?

The default engine played like Fighting Vipers but you can go into options and have the engine play more like Virtua Fighter. I can't recall what they named the actual play mode types. (Classic or Original? Remix? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif )

It was called fighting viper mode and Virtua Fighter mode..Honestly though the game played a hella lot better on the fighting viper mode

Guys, I meant the graphic engine.

Put your VF2 on. On a good tv with an RGB cable, it still looks freaking amazing more than 10 years later. You can't really say the same about FM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Yeah VF2 still looks kickass, often at mine have VF days going through rounds on VF1 VF2 VF3 VFEvo and VF5. Megamix usually gets broken out in the process.
After reading this post went and powered it back up

characters besides the VF2 (with VF3 moves sets!) and Fighting Vipers you have along the bottom row, VFKids Akira and Sarah, Bean and Bark from Sonic Fighters/Championship, Janet "Hubcaps" Marshall from Virtua Cop who had Aois VF3 moveset, A cJumping Bean... Daytona USA car (hybrid of Bahn&Akira movelist) and Ura Bahn who was more akin to Akiras moveset. in the middle above the bottom row there was Siba a prototype VF1 character a Arabian character doesnt look out of place id like it if he was brought back theres quite a few martial art styles from that part of the world) and Rent-a-hero who was from a odd action RPG back on the MD/Genesis/ then theres the AM2 palm tree. if you did an armor breaker on it, it gets smaller lol

I quite liked the VFers having the FV armor breakers. which if you used when opponents health was low it was shatter the background walls and send the flying.
There was quite a few cameos as well such as holding X on both pads on Mahler background i think it was the Afterburner plane would fly over.

Fighters Megamix used a variation the Model 2B engine used in Fighting Vipers, as 2B had better direction lighting and 3D shading. One background that stands out for me was Sarahs from VF1, as it was all light sourced from the floor and lighting the under side of the character so they looked damn cool. the Megamix version had pink and blue neons around the sides too spelling the word MEGAMIX.

Fighters megamix 2 would be well sweet, definatly throw in Ryo Hazuki and Lin Shan Tao!

If this is to happen, I have a feeling that AM-2 and Team Ninja will probably use DOA stage format.[/size]

I heard from xplay that there was a character called Mr. Meat. who was a huge slab of meat. I find it hilarious if this is true because when else can you say "dude I totally smacked you up with my meat"

    Hilarity ensues

It could be interesting, but I think a Tekken Vs. Virtua Fighter would work better IMO...

    The DOA characters would reign.

Their low attacks would decimate any VF character.

    Look at Ryu's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif

    Or his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif mixup.
