Well, I'm hoping for a PS2 port because U.S. arcades probably won't have it. I can always dream.

VF5 on PS3 seems almost inevitable.

When VF5 is convered to Home Console use the PS3 would be here by that time. Basically around late 2005 or early next year of March 2006. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Same here, I think it's time for a new version and I hope they include Taka or a smaller sumo with the same movelist.

Virtua Fighter 4 evo isnt on the most powerful system, but we still play it. I'm a PS fan and if all the companies that are on PS1 and 2 are going to be on three I would hope they keep VF on PS even if its still on PS2. I would be uber pissed if it came out for xbox or even worse gamecube BLEH!

in short PS2 rules, graphics are nothing, game is everything.

I'd be majorly pissed if it came out on the XBox because then I couldn't play it anymore :-\

But I hope it stays on the PS systems.

and it would of been a PERFECT port if it was on xbox. Sorry, graphics fucking matter..how come whenever a new VF comes out we all oooh and ahhh over the pretty pictures? Anyone who says graphics do not matter is lying to themselves. WHy would you be pissed it was on the Xbox, or Xbox 2? Great..Hard drive makes it PERFECT for online play....fuck the crapstation. Would you not play it if it had come out on xbox?

Yes graphics do matter in order to sell the game but the bottom line will always be gameplay. Everybody wants a great looking game but at the end of the day, if the gameplay sucks it's just not worth $49.99. Do you think that ppl will be running to the stores in July to get Gran Turismo 4, only for the pretty graphics ? It would have been cool to see how VF4 would've turned out had it been released on Xbox or GC but oh well the PS2 version seems fine to me.

    fuck the crapstation

Don't tell me you're in this nerd shit too !?

Listen, there is no arguing that the xbox is a better system. It beats out the PS2 spec wise in every area.
Gameplay is the bottom line, but a good graphical representation of that gameplay is needed. I doubt a lot of us would of given VF a serious turn if it looked like complete shit.

I agree. Its expected for every sequel to have gameplay and graphical refinements. Graphics affect the overall atmosphere of the game. If not, All could be playing Vf4evo with Vf1 graphics..ie flat ,blocky ,no textured or light sourced characters within a ring with flat wall paper backgrounds. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Screw arcade perfection, let's have it on the system that's most accessible and has the highest installed base.

Last thing Sega needs to do now is put their prime development nuggets on a niche platform just to satisfy a smattering of hardcore players.

the main reason evo and 4 are on ps2 is because the japenese market tends to prefer than system over the others, you can't blame em either. *looks at the back of his ps2 which reads : made in japan /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif*
i would still play it if it was on cube or box, but then a stick would be ESSENTIAL because: *looks at the cube and box controllers, and say "No god...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"* /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

    and the american

    and the european

    and the martians

    etc.

the installed user base of the ps2 is just silly compared to the other 2 major consoles. One would have to assume that this will be the case with the ps3 also, barring an absolute miracle I'd say that future incarnations of console VF will be first and foremost on a console that says Sony on it.

I'd be pissed if the VF came out on XBox because I dont own one. I have a PS2 and GC, no reason why I should buy ANOTHER system.

Besides, my PC > my consoles anyways. But back to topic.

Yeah, XBox has higher specs. Hell Gamecube has higher specs, and I might be wrong, but I think the GC even has slightly better specs than the XBox anyways. It's not like either one is significantly more powerful than the other.

Where the PS2 completely, undeniably owns the other 2 systems at, is the software. Sure, there are plenty of great looking XBox games, and plenty of great looking GC games. But is there really anything worth playing outside of Halo and Metroid? Until the last 4 months, the XBox had NOTHING else to play besides Halo. Gotham Racing was decent, but nothing special over GT3.

I'll give it credit though; Microsoft's finally gotten some decent software on their system, so now the appeal is starting to broaden. It makes me regret buying my gamecube. But I still stand by it when I say that the PS2 has the widest range of quality EXCLUSIVE software titles, so there's pretty much a game for anyone out there. Until the past few months, Xbox either had Halo or some great multi-system released games. Not a good winning combo there.

    Just my 2cents.
