I've seen several people attempt podcasts. I always thought an interview format would be fun to download and listen to on the way to work.

Hey Myke what's the rule for being able to edit an original post?

There is an 8 hour window in which you can edit your post.

The exception is the Tournaments and Events forum which has a 3 month window.

Ok thanks! I didn't know those rules. I'll just compile everything in my next post.

I love all of these ideas and Podcast interviews is something I'm looking into for the future. For now until further notice interviews are being done via PMs.

Guys I'd like to apologize because I know I have been lagging in getting the next article out, but I have been kind of busy with some personal things in my life during the day. I could have finished things up this past weekend, but I really needed some personal to myself just to relax. And what better way to relax than to get beat up in VF for 2 hours or so by Denkai. [IMG]

Anyway the article should be up by the weekend no later than Monday for the holiday. Issue #2 will be the same as issue #1 in terms of content. I have some other stuff that I am working on with a few key members in the community that I will present to all of you in issue #3. When this issue comes out it's very important to me that all involved get appropriate recognition for the time they invested.

For issue #4 I'm hoping to blow everyone's mind out of the water with another project I'm working, but haven't quite worked out the details. I can't promise that this particular thing I'm working on will be in issue #4, but hopefully it will be ready for all of you no later than issue #5.

Moving forward... I plan to dedicate a little more time to all of this, so hopefully by the time issue #4 or #5 comes out I'll have everything in place to provide content to all of you in a better timely fashion. I'm aiming to release content on a 2 week basis because that's all that my current schedule permits, but with good support from the community who knows maybe it can become a weekly thing? I guess that will depend on EVERYONE'S involvement.

I compiled all of the sensible questions from everyone's post, but had to omit a lot of them due to Sega's announcement about VF5FS. A lot of the questions didn't really fit anymore.

Anyway, the format is seriously going to change like I mentioned so guys please keep questions coming. Questions don't necessarily have to be about VF. They can be about a person's life style, favorite food, etc. I'm no reporter so the more you guys help me the more entertaining each news article will be.

    Questions

What first attracted you to VF and what currently keeps you motivated?

Why did you stick with Eileen and did you try other characters first?

What do you think makes VF unique compared to other fighters?
Who in your opinion is the best VF player you ever played with on or offline?
Which VF characters do you like to fight against the most and which VF characters do you hate fighting against the?

What gives you the most satisfaction in VF?

Are there any other fighting games that give you as much enjoyment as VF?
How do you feel about VF5FS coming out?

Has your feelings towards SEGA changed since this announcement?
Are there any other characters you enjoy playing with aside from Eileen?
What’s the origin of your nickname MarlyJay? Did you come up with it yourself or was it giving to you?

Ok well I still have not received back Marly's responses so it looks like issue #2 is on hiatus until he responds.

In the meantime I'm going to release this as a filler. It's a test run podcast that I was doing with Denkai over the weekend that I didn't plan on releasing, but fuck it why not. I recommend you listen to it via headphones as it can be a little hard to hear Denkai's responses through normal speakers.

It was my first time using Audacity so I didn't know how to amplify the volume for the person I'm recording. While listening to the audio you will hear at times the sound level increase and decrease. That's me tinkering with one of Audacity's amplify features that you can use after you have recorded something.

If anyone uses Audacity and could provide some feedback please feel free to PM me. I wanted to do some more testing yesterday, but unfortunately I couldn't due to work. Hopefully I can look into things today and really get this recording thing under my belt as I'd like to start doing Podcast more frequently. It was actually a lot of fun.

A few things I learned on my first attempt at making a podcast:

    1) DON'T SIP OR DRINK THINGS DURING A RECORDING LOL. I totally forgot that I was recording our conversation so you will constantly here me sipping on hot tea for like the first 15-20 minutes of the recording. Sorry to anyone if this gets annoying.

    2) Be mindful that when you get excited and your own volume raises that could be annoying to the listeners. Playing back the recording there were so many times that the volume spiked from me going " mmmmmmmmmmmm " or just getting excited about something... sorry guys!

    3) You need decent equipment to negate background noise! Living in a NYC apartment can be pretty rough especially for me because I live on a main street where a lot of bikers like to ride there motorcycles, dirt bikes, etc down the street doing wheelies etc. As a matter of fact while doing the recording some guy riding a dirt bike doing a wheelie got knocked off his bike by a car making a turn onto the main street. OUCH! I'll try to make a recording of when these bikers roll through cause sometimes it's crazy to hear the roaring of engines and then you look outside and it's like 100+ bikes rolling by with some of the guys doing the most insane tricks or variations of wheelies like sitting on the handle bar while the bike is up in the air.

    4) Setting up some sort of structure so conversation is flowing in a specific order and not jumping all over the place. Sometime this is fine, but I think to not lose the topic of each Podcast I should create some sort of structure. It didn't have that often, but we did kind of jump around in some places.... Suggestions anyone?

There is a few more things, but it's early and I can't remember.

Anyway, I've uploaded the file to MEGAUPLOAD so feel free to download it and provide some feedback.
