You know what, I'm going to play Sherlock for 30 minutes max... I hate you .jp.playstion.com!

    news flash!
Found this interview. Some interesting tidbits of why they chose Goh and Brad as the new characters, but Altavista translations are, to put it bluntly, harsh.

    http://www.jp.playstation.com/psworld/game/features/030228/interview.html

Will someone with japanese reading skills translate?
Please. Pretty please with sugar on top.

If nobody with the skills replies, here's what I got out of it by combining cafeglobe and altavista:

-they reiterated that their original concept was to base one character on grappling and one on strikes... so judo and kickboxing were chosen.

-you need a vast quantity of moves and data to create a character, and their way of doing it is to capture hundreds of moves from experts, then narrow the movelist down to about 200. Apparently they actually play with the complete movelist and then decide which ones stay and which ones go depending on how practical they seem for a fighting game. (*it'd be pretty cool to see some of the rejected ones, yee?) They're confident in the way the moves are reflected in the game because the staff who were actually doing judo took charge of the move analysis.

-Some stuff about the design of the costume for goh - the idea of a judo assassin is "interesting", they put the J6 logo on the back of his jacket... it's strange to think of judo being used for assassination (I think he's said that, I hope the thread that went on and on about this point isn't cloduing my interpretation). Mr. noriyuki asks rhetorically 'He sure must love J6 (haha)'

-Brad's name was changed, and at this point I'm iffy as to what he's saying. Someone basically said "why is he given an american name when he's shown as being from italian ancestry in the game?" - noriyuki basically says that if anyone asks this and doesn't believe the explanation, please refer them to him (or this interview).

-An interesting insight as to why lei fei is somewhat suitable for a beginner. With the typical character you must remember page after page of moves to get new and interesting attacks. With lei fei, the same command can result in interesting, 'colorful' attacks based on which stance he's in. So in that sense less memorization is needed to come up with a variety of attacks (*I guess that's true, P and K will work from any stance and produce 5 or 6 different moves depending on the stance, not to mention backturned stuff).

-something about one of the special movies you can unlock inside (14 of them) shows one of the developers playing with one hand, and he is able to do well against opponents, if I'm reading this right he was even able to beat 8th dan players by mashing strenuously with both hands?! (lol, I hope I have this all wrong)

-Another bit about wallpaper being promoted to a regular section of the game based on positive feedback. Try many simple things to unlock more.

    Altavista is at http://world.altavista.com/tr
    Cafeglobe is at http://www.cafeglobe.com/cafe/wotg/index_en.html
and is better, though occasionally altavista gets certain phrases that cafeglobe doesn't.

nono..this bit is quite correct...u can indeed unlock the movies that showed this guy performing various techniques n combos with one hand...

then watch this guy use kage n take on other players using on his left hand!

n he did quite well too!

Though, I didn't see him mash any buttons at any point at all~
