Yep, Blacksburg it is. FBT and I will be going, and I'm emailing D right after I post this. All we need now are directions from Iceman, and it's up to him whether staying over is possible.

    So, see everyone on Saturday!

P.S. I'm making another Jamboree thread about this meeting, in case we can pull some more people out of it.

This is the final word...I hope /versus/images/icons/grin.gif My appartment, try to arrive around 2pm. FBT said he might not stay past 6, if so, his loss /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif We will definatly have 2 TVs, I'll try for 3, that way we can set up something else (Soul Calibur, Capcom, Smash Bros, Cartoons, whatever).

Directions: I assume everyone is coming from I-81. I think the Exit is 118-C. It's 118-something. I think it's C, and either way the exit saying "Virginia Tech" is very well marked. Take that. Once you exit, you'll be on 460 West for about 2 miles or so when you have the option of exiting off at Christiansburg. Don't exit here, you'll lose 10 minutes time. Stay on the road towards "Bluefield, W.Va., Blacksburg, Virginia Tech." If you make a mistake here, not a big loss, you'll just go through a lot of unnecessary traffic. You will drive a few more miles and come to another set of exits. Take the one towards "Blacksburg, Smart Rd." Now you are on Main St. If you're on the right road you'll drive a mile or so and see a Kroger on your left. After another 3/4 of a mile you should see Blacksburg Middle School on your right. After this you will come to a red light and the road will become 1 lane each direction. Go straight through this first light. You should see a bank on your left and immediately come to a second light. Take a right onto "ROANOKE STREET" (how Ironic, we move this from Roanoke City to Roanoke St.). Drive for less than a mile (I think it's 3 blocks, maybe 4) and just before you take the curve Roanoke St. Apartments will be on your left. Pull in here. I live in the first building on the left. Building 500, apartment C. Hello. My name is Donnie and I'll be your host for this evening.

Sleeping arrangements, we'll work something out. Bring a sleeping bag/blanket and pillow.

Phone number just in case is (540) 200-1702 I'm adding my aim screen name and icq number to my profile so you guys can contact me through those means should you come online tonight.

That was a badass gathering, thanks for hosting it. It's too bad more people couldn't have hung out for more than a day. I'm inspired to write a little somethin' soon I think.

Yeah, the gathering was such a blast. Glad to have met all of you all VA players. All of you guys were really cool people. I'm all for it to play again sometimes. Next time everyone should plan to stay overnight to play even more VF. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

Same here man, I had a blast meeting all of you guys /versus/images/icons/smile.gif. Iceman seemed a little nervous (^_^) but I think he did a great job in hosting along with the other guys. It was just simple carefree fun gaming, and I will be happy to attend more meetings like those /versus/images/icons/smile.gif.

Oh yeah, the gathering was great! It was really cool to see how well that worked out; it was better than expected. I wish I could have stayed over, but with Sunday's weather, it was probably a good thing that I didn't, as I had my first Spring class on Monday at 9:00 AM.

Looking back, I realize that my throw game is very weak, I need to learn crouch-dashing, and inashis rock. I've officially retired that piece-o-crap Pelican stick I had there, and I hope to build something good soon. As for the Texas tournament, though I can't say anything for sure, I'm definitely looking into the possibility of heading out there.

There's already talk of another gathering (heh, MAG2...); we'll see what we can come up with.

Overall, things turned out really well. I can't think of anything that didn't turn out correctly. I should have brought my camcorder so some of the more enjoyable matches could have been kept. I need to buy an extra memory card or two for that purpose. I reaching to find something that was bad about the weekend. Please tell me if you have something, I'll try not to let it happen again /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

Bu_Jasoom: Thanks for complementing my hosting /versus/images/icons/smile.gif I did my best. Yeah, I was a little nervous. I knew coming in I would be one of the weaker players, and I was not disappointed. Also I played more Soul Calibur than I intended. Josh and I have a rivialry of sorts in that game and I got carried away playing too much. I played a lot of VF after you left /versus/images/icons/confused.gif I don't remember if we got any matches in or not. I just remember being impressed while watching you hit DLC a few times. I still miss it more than I land it. I promise to play more VF next time /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

NinjinSan: Glad you enjoyed yourself. I enjoyed your play. Thanks to you and CreeD I'm taking a new character seriously, Pai (in addition to my Kage, Sarah and Wolf). I liked watching your Lei Fei the chances I got to see it. I might mess with him every now and then /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

CreeD: Enjoyed having you over for that one extra night /versus/images/icons/wink.gif I learned A LOT from that extra night, such as how to get and remove dunce items /versus/images/icons/frown.gif Thanks for the Pai, Wolf, Sarah, Kage, hell that's my whole roster you gave me good tips on lol. I swear I knew 75% of the throws you had hit me with, with Jeff/Wolf anyway, I just entered the damn escape a few frames too late /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif Thanks for the footage you brought. I can't wait to try Goh and Brad now!

Overall, I learned a lot. I think I speak for everyone in saying you guys were cool to hang out with and this was educational and lots of fun! Being a SF player as well, I can't believe how often I eat jab to throw /versus/images/icons/crazy.gif I expected to be in the bottom half of the players present, I was right, lol. More importantly, it was great meeting, hanging with and playing with you three. Hopefully, a few months down the road you can come back for more VF. Taking Cue from a suggestion NinjinSan made; if everyone has spring break falls a similar time, perhaps that would be a good time to plan another one of these.
