    So - a couple new moves: [4][4]+[K] and [6][6]+[P]+[K] - lets hope they're useful. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

A hit throw from back turned - rockin /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif: [2][P]+[K], [P]+[G] - I'm hoping this is animated on AM2's site. Sounds similar to Lau's new hit throw from Tiger stance.

Some changes, I'm thinking, to her quick sweep ([1][K]+[G]) and her [6][P]+[G] - who knows, recovery, advantage, etc...

And lastly, her choice of moves using the new VF.net system. Either her current [4]+[P] or her old two-fisted extending poke from Ver.C which crumples on counter hit. Hmm...that's a tough call. The new one has better stats...but I like the idea of getting a crumple back.

"214P+K( a new move(?)) -> Dodges elbows. Can be comboed with 6,6,K,K"

what the translated text someone put up: "outside gate top elbow 214P+K"
suggests is High Elbow Gaimon, or High Elbow Reversal = 214P+K, can be followed with DJK. I think this is the move we saw in the first clip, the new "sabaki".

all the other news about Akira is dis-heartening, seems like we're only hearing about weaknesses so far, aside from this sabaki and the powered-up DE.

ST became easier to struggle, great!

Mukatsuku wrote Akira's 1P+G no longer causes Yoroke (stagger)? this move never did cause a stagger, do you mean 4,2+P+G (what I just mentioned)?

    Thanks for the info

Re: more infor on FT( Akira's got owned hardcore)

Some more notes from the grapevine:

Jeffry has a new ground throw where he picks up the enemy, holds him above his head, and slams him right back down (as opposed to the ring-out friendly ground throws of Evo). He also has a new hit-throw with his small knee (not the one where he jumps in the air) where he gets huge damage. A random Jeff came in and got an impressive win streak, including back-to-back victories against Chibita doing some of this new stuff.

Lion has a new sabaki move where he puts his hands in some strange triangular position while bending at the knee. It apparently works against mid-kicks. Chibita kept trying it again and again against the computer, to much laughter. It looks ridiculous.

Vanessa has new flow patterns in her OS [4][6][P][P][4][P] series of moves, including a circular punch after the first two that appears to have sabaki properties against mid/high punch.

Brad has also received much more attention, as he has tons of options after sway, including a rising knee that causes a low float, as well as the sabaki move seen on Sega's site.

As far as overall impressions, I talked to Neo Tower who said that Jacky is much weaker, something about his mid-kick being completely toned down/taken out. Still, he had a 89% win percentage after 50 or so matches. Hard to feel bad for the guy. Ohsu had a meager win percentage of 60%, but he was apparently in it only for the fun of trying out new stuff. There were Akiras ripping it up with his new shit, including that strange flailing double-punch that advances him a few steps and is quite a break from his traditional hit-to-floater combo flow chart. Aoi has a new evade action after her [6][6][P] that allows her to step back after either elbow, similar to Shun's [7]/[1][P][K][G]. Most people seemed to be interested in Jeffry and Goh after their new changes. The famous Kage player Jin even went as far as to calling himself a "Goh player" after seeing his new stuff. Big words from a Tou-shou Kage.

As far as it feeling "faster," most people agreed that some of the combo starters were much quicker, almost to the point that they looked like cancelled moves from the Hyper Combo Challenge of the Evo home version. Of course it is far too early to render a verdict, as some of these moves might change/be eliminated, but the overall flow is a bit faster than Evo.

    Some changes in rings:
Lei Fei's stage is now larger and completely fenced in. A new stage that resembles Aoi's stage has a jungle/rain forest background. Dural's stage has been enlarged, with the new area being coloured dark black. The graphics as a whole are quite nice on all stages.

    More on the way...

Looks like alot of "abusable" moves have been toned down. Then again this is the test version. I remember that Lau's [4][6][P] was throw counterable in the Evo test. I don't know why they even touched Shun's 8K+G. Its balance is fine - if anything it should be improved to be a bit faster.

More news, thanks again to my friend (Atsushi):

    "Hard Counter (or Red Counter)":
Different to the yellow flashing counter that we have had so far, it shows in a red flash. It seems that when a big damage move (dmg 21 or above?) is killed before it comes out, this red flashing effect appears. People say that SEGA set it because the ABARE (doing some move in disadvantage) or a reversal two choice is now a strong tactics so they make it riskier to do so. Noone is sure what times it to the hard counter damage yet.

Re: more infor on FT( Akira's got owned hardcore)

I have faith that AM2 knows what they're doing here, every incarnation of VF has pleased the gamers and I believe FT will be no difference. I recall much bitching about Evo before it came out, and now I don't know anyone here who'd rather play ver. C. But, in the interest of debate and the hope that they're watching, here's my 2 cents.

Kage: I like what they've done here. I always liked the ver. C 2_3P for its interrupting abilities, and that combo off of it sounds nice (what weights/stance is that, btw?). Also, the [4][K] being able to switch to Jumonji sounds sickeningly good, in addition to the the DPK(KKKKKK) being somewhat reminiscent of bad anime (DBZ anyone?).

Akira: I think the SDE being throw counterable is a good tune, due to the aforementioned low risk/high reward of the move. However, I agree that making Byakko knee counterable is probably a bit much, especially considering the other changes made. It's punishable enough being elbow / wait-a-second-run-up-and-throw-counterable.

Jeffrey: Air throw? Cool, I suppose, but it reminds me of SC.

The more apparent flashes for hit type will be nice, I think. It would certainly help less skilled players in hit reaction. As long as they don't give Lau the ability to turn into a bipedal, katana-wielding rhinoceros with the ability to shoot fireballs and/or poisonous gas out of his sphincter, I'm digging FT.

Me LuV the Brad InfO tiHi! (Blaytant!)

If the first impressions of Brads moves are correct - these are good times indeed to be playing the mofo. Thank you Sega.

Does Goh's frontroll have good evasive properties or something similar - making a good attack/throw threat after? Like after a stagger far back or something?
I find it hard based on the little info to see why everybodys so raving over Goh.

/KiwE (Mostly intrested in Brads [1][P] move and the swayback [K]+[G] being a 2p Sabaki now?)

Air throws sound like scrubby ways to finish combos.

we might see more than 35% akira 35%kage 10% lau 20% other ratios in VF single man tourneys now. Looks like sega is not playing favorite to akira now - although knee counterable dblpalm is more than i ever could ask for.

Re: more infor(All in for Akira's old 6P)

    Some additional infor

    Lion:

    4KP:
High kick and eye poking. causes stagger.

    4K64PP:
High kick, step in, two mid poking. also causes stagger.

    4K64K:
A similar move as above. After the step, he does 6K instead.

    Jeffry:
A new ground throw: When opponent face down head toward 3P+G

    Vanessa:
    2K+G, 3P, 2_5P, 3P+K(O)
-> motions have changed. They say that 2K+G now looks like Jacky's and it's critical. <- I am not sure what this means, but the sweep might of got toned down.

    Sarah:
2K+G doesn't knock down on counter any more. <- Not 100% confirmed yet.

    Lau:
Tiger stance 4P can be done without going into the stance. (become a regular move)

    Goh:
Added PK. PK4 will get him backturned.

    Brad:
46P+G has a worse recovery on escape.

    PPPKK:
3 Punches followed by two knees. Air combo purpose?

    Jacky:

Sliding shuffle is tricky and very fast now.

P2K's stagger has got toned down.

    Shun:
6_KP: The first kick hits mid and has a very good hit box. (being able to beat Shun's 2K with it)

    466P+G->46P+G

1_P on counter doesn't knock down. It only knocks down on a red counter hit.

I thought about it more today, and I'm guessing that the QCB+P+K is a special elbow-only reversal/sabaki, not for high elbows but mids (since he does it to Kage in the vid we saw).

the throw-counterable SDE is a little too much to me, although people seem to like to call the move "safe", it really isn't so safe, and the defender has a beautiful nitaku chance on guard. I actually feel more comortable after having me Knee or other Throw-only counterable moves guarded than I do after a guarded SDE. Anyway, maybe they're just trying to get people away from using too much SDE/Biako.

but, Back-Turned SPOD... all is forgiven /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Sliding shuffle is tricky and very fast now.

P2K's stagger has got toned down.

I'm sorry Maddy, some clarification please...

are you talking about Jacky's left foot forward [P][K]? (punch, side kick)

or punch low sweep? - punch low sweep never produced a stagger.

Or could you mean that he is at more disadvantage after punch low sweep? Thanks for clearing this up.

Wow! I never would have imagined some of the things Am2 have done with FT. TFT a 270? It only took a decade. As for the Akira changes I'll wait til the home version comes out to truly believe it. Am2 might have forgotten who puts asses in the seats. There are TOO many Akira whores out there to be pissed off. Am2 will fuck around and have them switch over to Tekken 5 if they don't watch it. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyway, FT sounds like it's gonna be the shit which ain't surprising to me since it's VF.
