It's fast, no doubt. It's just one of those stubborn moves you're gona have to practice and practice, maybe curse a little bit. Then it'll click on how it works. Then when you realize you -can- do it, it'll then just take practice to get consistant. Same with the Knee you mentioned.

A tip that recently helped a friend of mine with the Knee would be to go to the training mode and turn on the display setting which shows the frame count for your inputs. First make sure that you're hitting the K and G at the same time as each other (in the same line). Then check out how long you're holding the G down for. If that's for 1 frame, then make sure that you're holding the K for at least 2 frames or more. Annoying moves to learn, but it's satisfying once you do, so stick with it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

The knee is just straight up a bitch and takes tons of practice, but from what I've seen the most common problem people have with the other combo is not inputting the final P+K fast enough. You really need to do it at the same time as your last ->.

I was so happy when VF4 added a similar-ish knee to the K+G command, so I would at the very least no longer mash out a high kick when I tried for the near-impossible knee of doom! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

The knee and the DLC remain extremely difficult for me, but it's all a matter of practice. I remember failing miserably every time I tried a SPOD back in the olden days of VF2, and that became second nature.. So don't be discouraged!

(also, get a stick. Akira and gamepads do. not. mix.)

SrY. But Akira doing Yoho, P, Knee, DblPlm vs. 1/2 of the Characters. Whoo.is it Really worth the risk? I´m Evo Player and heard that bd was Badly toned down, so how to get a Yoho. (Don´t want to become a Random YOHO Spammer again just for the Promise of damage)
Edit: Meant BD Yoho compared to bd SPoD

If you're good at catching what others do while you sidestep you could buffer it into your sidestep. I don't know many other setups for a safer Yohou, others can probably help you more.

Yoho´s always been prety unsafe but... Getting maximun damage hrmmm that gets me think. Still my question... is it Really worth the risk??? O.K. YOHO P Knee DblPlm Against MidWeight. So Back Dash Ho no more good in VF5 *cry*. Always wanted to do do this after BDing Lau´s 3+PK -German Expression- Bröööns THX for The ideas. but what about BackDash YoHo? Is it Reallly Screwed? What i wanted to know was if there was any move that could be whiff-punished after BD with YoHo in VF5. in VF4:EVO were many i think....

SrY for DBL post. But if u have to use a Pad. Use an ol school digital Pad from PS-1 OR Best the Antiquitate one from first times PSX These Digital Buttons are much better than those Analogue ones from the PS2-Pads- Try doing Akira´s Knee with either one and you´ll know why. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Hi guys i'm new in here but i took the time to read almost every single post at least in Akira's section.

I don't have a PS3 (I'd rather wait for the 360 version) but after reading some posts here I played against some friends this weekend and I have some questions.

Which moves do cause the opponent to crumple when near a wall?
The double palm or the bodycheck may do so but I am wondering which other moves have the same effect. Does it have to do with the damage that each move inflicts?

Another thing is that some moves cause a wall stagger (e.g. df+K) and then I can continue with a Double fisted strike for a wall crumple (and then fuku->byakko).
I tried to do the same after a single palm which causes a wall stagger but it didn't work.

I know that it was not supposed to work but I just want to understand how the whole system works.

Maybe it would be a good idea if someone opened a new topic for wall combos, wall setups, wall crumples etc.

These are my questions for the time being.. Thanks in advance:).

Akira's Knee, Yoho directly against a wall, 66K, K on CH, SDE on CH, K+G on CH, and 1P+K+G,P on CH will cause wall stuns. As for moves having to do a certain amount of damage...that I can't tell you.

I only know what works and what doesn't work. And there could be more moves that cause wall stuns that I'm unaware of as well.

Imo, the best options to work with are Byakko, Chouzan, K, SDE, and Knee.

You can connect 46P+K after a Single Palm wall stagger and get a wall stun, but it's not consistent enough to rely on all the time and it seems like it all depends on how you're aligned with the wall when 46P+K connects.

However, it does seem to work pretty consistently if you're directly in a corner of two walls.

If you're playing against someone who isn't the greatest at breaking staggers you can go for SPoD after a Single Palm wall stagger. The payoff is HUGE damage.

And even if they are good at breaking staggers I'd still go for it. But that's just me. hahahaha I like big rewards.

As for your question about how the system works and why things do and do not work...I'm sure there's someone else who can help you with that.

    Hahahaha. Summer's here bro.

So I'm pretty sure I can make it to some C-Town get-togethers here and there.

    Back into it...

Aki's BT P+K, K, and 1K(only on CH) will cause wall stuns as well, and can be set up through 3K+G,6P,8/2 off-shoots.

Though Aki's BT P+K has such a long recovery that following up with 43P-Byakko is too unreliable cause 43P inconsistently bounces.

Since it just staggers now, there are no guaranteed followups in regular play. I'm not sure if you stagger against a wall, and produce a wall hit/stagger, if anything is guaranteed? Maybe you can test this out.

If your opponent doesn't struggle, or is slow to, then go for a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif slam + combo. Otherwise if they can struggle, then you just get a chance to apply a nitaku (2-choice) guessing game between a mid or throw.

It is supposedly still able to beat out /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and the stagger can lead to a nice mix up if you have the yomi.

I'm really liking Akira's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. This might have been discussed earlier but check this out:

At -7 vs. 12i jabbers, -6 vs. 11i, and -5 10i /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif ducks under the jab (amount of disadvantage may be off). Someone else verify?

Um I dont think it ever did. If you did it with backward crouchdash it was the BCD that beat P and d+P, not Shoulderram itself. This element is still there but its not much of a redeeming issue. For wall staggers there are maybe better moves (SgPm, f+P, sidekick etc imo). I havent found a use of it yet and, personally, thats saying something. It is possible to use it in flowcharts but imo it doesnt promise enough payback given its -9 on block without any special properties whatsoever, and very close range. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
