VF5 Akira's advance stuff and combos (ver C)

    I tried it several times today but could never get the 2nd kick to hit. The only time the 2nd kick hits was when I do the combo from the middle of the ring(full wall) and the wall sort of pushes the opponent nearer but doesn't touch.

    Yeah the timing is a little weird on it. But when I tested it I was on the no wall stage so I know the wall isn't a factor.

    edit - I posted to delay the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif after the throw some, but I tested it again and the timing of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif isn't that important. It's all based on the timing of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. Also it helps to not hit /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif after the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. Go immediately into yoho. It seems real hard at first, but once you get the timing down it's a fairly easy Akira combo (by Akira standards).

    Awesome! After the yoho, the float height is perfect for a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif too. Alot of characters i could end with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif too but the damage is strangely the same. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif will give you more time to dash in to pressure the opponent though.

    I'm guessing that the yoho has to be perfectly input with no delay like the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif combo suggested by TexasLion.

    I got to try more to give a more accurate description on how to do it.

    with the p, k finisher on lau i can't land the p but the k lands. maybe i need to waste a frame or hold forward on the p, k? cause yeah, it would be nice to get more pressure afterwards. i haven't tried the djk on the others since the p, k is better.

    is there something we can do about lion?

    I tried many way but couldn't get a yoho refloat on Lion.

    I managed to get a yoho refloat followed by /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif on Akira once but could not repeat it again. >.<

    You see if you can find anything. I don't have my ps3 with me so its kinda hard.

    More people = faster results!

    The yoho refloat is fastest timing like Lau.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif does not work.

    I haven't managed the combo with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif( /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif) after the SDE. When this is the case, does it mean the combo is no good from max range, as akira won't advance with the punch?

    After testing thoroughly, both s_aki and TexasLion's combo has been added to the first post.

    For SDE hitting on Lau and Akira, in order for yoho to refloat them real high, the first /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif has to be perfect. On lau, the last /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif has to be 1 frame delay to connect for 75pts(same damage when you do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif).

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif(do not hold forward) > yoho > DJK on Brad, the first /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif has to be done the very instant when Akira is able to move! It's really hard.

    For the record, I do all the combos by tapping /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and it connects. Tapping /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif after the first /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is to prevent Akira from doing his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif string when you try to do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,yoho. It doesn't cause any frame loss.

    I've found a 'combo' that 'blasts' pai and other mid-light weights on wall for almost 100dmg... (I think it's escapable but insanely hard to do so)

    I don't know why sometimes, they hit the ground hard before AS3, other times, they 'float' slightly letting it connect. A /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ground hit is guarunteed on slam I believe...

    Are there better combos for more damage? I'll accept if there's a tiny [as in very few frames] of escape window. I haven't fought anyone who could 'perfect mash' out of some combos yet...

    You are right. The combo can be escaped during the wall stagger from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. I'm assuming that's how you're starting the combo since that's the only way I know of that will allow you to get a wall splat from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

    The best(highest damage) follow-up I know of after getting a wall stagger from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is SPOD. The damage varies depending on the distance you are from your opponent when /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif connects, and whether it landed as normal or counterhit.

    If you get the maximum damage allowed from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif on a normal hit, you'll end up taking 102 pts. after the SPOD.

    If you get the maximum damage allowed from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif on a counter hit, you'll end up taking 119 pts. after the SPOD.

    If the SPOD hits the opponent against a wall, you can go for standing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, Knee, or Bodycheck for additional damage before they're able to techroll.

    You can end up getting 138+ damage in return if the Bodycheck is deep enough, but then you're also open to being mC'd if the Bodycheck doesn't K.O. and they techroll afterwards.. Imo, it's definitely well worth it if you're playing against someone who struggles at breaking staggers quick enough. Otherwise it's a risk vs. reward. Cause if the SPOD is blocked then you're at a -13 disadvantage and open to some punishment.

    I dont think the deep bodycheck works in wall combos anymore.. or if it does the hit is horrendously difficult to pull off. I use 100% knee now after wallhits..

    ps. Might be good idea to edit that in ver.c the

    You could be right. I just know the damage from the Bodycheck always varies depending on how far I am from the opponent.

    And I agree...Knee all the way after wallhits.

    Good call. I recall you and danny talking about this in a thread(could have been this one) a little while ago and totally forgot all about it until you mentioned it once again.

    I started using it more for ground hits and it definitely is the juice. Thanks for the reminder.

    Btw, I remember watching a couple vids you posted quite a while ago where you were playing Akira against another person who was playing him as well. I was pretty impressed by your play-style with him. You should just stick with Akira and drop that KaGay shit.

    I have a question about Ver.C since I still haven't gotten a chance to pick it up yet and REALLY play it...

    Does anyone know if Akira's Yoho will still magically go right through opponents instead of launch them after successful evades where it should connect? This happens to me from time to time in Ver.B and I know it's happened to other players as well.

    I could give specific examples where this happens if that would help. Especially against Lau and Pai. Maybe I'm wrong and it's not suppose to work in the first place.

    Any insight on this?

    I have never missed a Youhou attempt after a successful evade. I have went through him as we both attacked, I don't remember what he did but I did an elbow and this was offline.
