I don't understand the negativity here concerning Sega showing off FS at PAX.

Behind E3, PAX is the second biggest video game related convention in the US. Last year PAX had over 60,000 attendees!

I'm sure anyone there if interested in FS would want to to play the game for themselves than watch some "star" player play.

Haunts (runs iplaywinner) I'm sure will do a great job showcasing VF. For the fact that he has showed up to one of Plague's gatherings years ago shows he is hardcore.

Sure the notice is a bit soon for any of us to travel up to Seattle to check it out but if they are going this far ahead I'm without a doubt certain they will demo the game at PAX East in Boston at April.

That site has made ludicrous statements about Sega that never come true for some time now. I'm surprised people haven't cottoned on to this yet.

According to them Sega is re-entering the console market with a Sky Net power console capable of Ray Tracing graphics [IMG]. It's run by Zack Morris the guy who uses subliminal messages to con people

If there is no one know how to play VF at PAX and only random people join and try to use fire ball, I don't see that will actually promote VF at the event properly.

After recording some shit videos and spread out on internet, people might have negative image about this game...

One more thing before I go back in the shadows.. I'm real hyped about this statement too. Sounds like some training mode and trials in it too. Also very excited about the "massive" amount of DLC items they speak of bringing to us...Wonderful news all the way around. This game is gonna be awesome. Glad they waited.

Exactly Dennis.. I hope sega put a full-on tutorial and Trial mode in there. If Shidosha says justin will be at the event i doubt he will try and play this game SMH!!! As Good as he maybe in SF and MVC3 he will not make the game appealing. I can see him now using Vanessa trying to poke a low Forward lol!!!

No... I just like fighters, and the only way I could play it away from home is hauling my PS3 around (im not moving it) or, hope the other person bought it..

Release the game for 40 bucks on shelves... problem solved..

Quit bitching and just be glad they're even releasing the game, for F's sake.

The download only strategy in itself will give them a bit of a run in the games media. Boone has really done this, to debut a new game in an established franchise digital only. Sign of the times, demise of retail, etc.
Where we come into it is to see if the community can come back without having a game on shelf to point new converts to.
I say if course, it is much much easier to download the game from a persistent server than to find at clueless retailers.
Where it suffers is Joe blow in the store browsing just to grab something to play, but vf never succeeded that way before.
Best to market the game digitally (summer of arcade 2012) and for us to push strong word of mouth and community events

At most it'll sell twelve copies maybe? Hardly worth printing the game just to make you satisfied.

Man waiting a whole year for this is gonna be torture. Glad it's hitting consoles, about time the PS3 got an online VF!

wtf are you talking about? The last game came out before Street Fighter IV gave life back into fighting games. Mortal Kombat is doing fantastic. The DLC, and disc copies of the game sold tons.

We're talking about an updated VF5 after SFIV, when more people want to play fighters. The game came out in 2007 already, there's no point in selling it at 60 when other companies have dropped the price of their upgrades.

The smartest thing to do would be release it as disc and digital. And, the game better not be 60 bucks, because I wont buy it.

Dude... The last Virtua Fighter game I owned was VF1 on Sega Saturn. I played VF2 in an arcade at an amusement park.... once.. and, I never touched VF3, or VF5.

It wouldn't bother me at all if they announced tomorrow that it was canceled. Did i sign the petition months ago? Yes.
Am I going to buy it? Yes.
So, I'm welcome to bitch about whenever there's something I don't like. I bitched about mvc3 (and didn't ever buy it) and umvc3, and not buying that crap either.
And, so I did MK when I wasn't able to use characters I PAID for online.
I'm complaining about SFIII:3rd Strike's online because it lags too much despite being GGPO.

Like the game, or hate it. If there's something I don't like, I'm going to say something.
SEGA's already getting my money, I could understand if i weren't getting it, but, that's not the case.

It may be easier. But, going to the store, and picking it up.. I can be back home in 10 minutes, and playing... Quicker than I could ever download it.

And, as I've said before... I can take it around with me. Not everyone's going to be willing, or, perhaps have the money for the game upfront when it's released.

I don't wait for my fighters.. If I want it, I'm going to be at that store 10 minutes before midnight. Hell, I was even there for MvC3, even though I hated it (My friend wanted it, so I had to transfer the reserve for the Limited Edition) There was even a tourney, and I was runner up. And, all through it, I never had the desire to buy the game, despite almost winning the tourney.

I'm sure I'll like VF5, because it's not Spammy like MVC2... where, you need Storm, or Sentinel on your team to win. And, you have to think more about strategy, and not "I'm going to spam this guy until he doesn't block something... then, smack him with an infinity combo."

And, I will not buy a 3 button fighter (mvc3) when you have to control 3 characters.

VF is different. It's a 3 button fighter too, but, you're not doing 268 hit spam combos across 30 seconds.

Oh yeah, and, for some people... After PSN's hacking... How many people do you think are going to have to go to the store to get PSN cards... Only to come back home (with no game) and still download it?

Regardless, though... I just want to be able to take the game around... Otherwise, I'll be least likely to play it... The only games I even play regularly that are digital are MvC2, and, SFIII.. but, that game just came out, of course I'm going to play it.

So, what happens when this game blows sega's expectations in digital sales... Can we get a physical copy then? Or, an ad-hoc mode on PS Vita?
