OK i watched this video frame by frame frin 1:50 to understand if lei fei goes in a new stance position...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcL7Z92Dm5Q

I still think he's got a new stance, because the guard is the opposite looking his feet. It happens again at 2:07, and he showed a string attack. Did any Lei-fei Player notice that?

This is his standard Ura-Koko, it looks slightly different in FS. He actually showed two interesting strings from the stance though.
One of them is in 0:37 starts like [P] series from Ura Nehan, finishes with a sweep
The other is in 2:08 where he starts with the same series, but finishes with a jumping [K] (looks exactly like regular Ura Koko [K]).
I wonder, is the [P] (sabaki) from Ura Koko gone?

Here's a video that's showing off what is supposedly a way to get around the One Throw Escape Only rule established in Final Showdown. This has been verified by two different players so it seems real, but it may be more of an exploit rather than an advanced technique.

This is what Kirenenko wrote in his blog. He's the guy who recorded the video and talked about it on VF Dojo. He first did this against Akira, but then he moved on to Kage, after he noted that he was not able to escape an Akira forward throw, so he did more research and found the following:

"Against Kage, I did a forward throw escape, immediately did evade then a back throw escape. With this I was able to escape Kage's [6][P]+[G], [6][4][P]+[G], and [6][3][2][1][4][P]+[G] throws, but I could not escape [4][6][P]+[G] and [6][6][P]+[G] throws.

After Taka's string gets blocked, what is the frame difference between the characters?

He's at -8 after the slap I believe.

If Taka is -8 and Kirenenko's observations are legitimate... I wonder if throw escape window is increased or input buffer window is decreased...

Edit: explains why there is no "whiff throw" animation and evade occurs.

ETE was an exploit originally too [IMG]

This sounds sketchy though lol.

One other player tested this out and had similar results. He posted his thoughts on the situation. This is a very new thing so a lot of people don't understand how it works, so assume everything is a theory for now.

Characters used: Kage (defender, thrower), Aoi (attacker)

Test Contents
Aoi does [6][P]+[G][P], which is guarded by Kage and leaves her at a -10 frame disadvantage.

After blocking Aoi's attack, Kage inputs either [4][6][P]+[G], [6][P]+[G], or [6][4][P]+[G].

While at a disadvantage, Aoi performs an evade and [4][P]+[G] throw escape. Once her disadvantage ends, Aoi does [6][P]+[G] throw escape.

Result
[4][6][P]+[G], [6][P]+[G], or [6][4][P]+[G] were all escaped.

※ Kirenenko was able to escape one command throw, but it seems that it's not the case.

Theory
1. Throw escapes have fixed active frames. For example, they may be the same as a regular throw at 10 frames.

2. You can only input one throw escape during said active frames.

3. At -10 frame disadvantage the [4][P]+[G] throw escape is an option select.

4. Disadvantage situation ended at the same time the last throw escape was performed (If 10F is the end of the disadvantage)

5. 10 frames after the [4][P]+[G] throw escape (when the disadvantage situation ends), the player inputs [6][P]+[G]

6. The frame after the throw escape is on the 11th frame, so within that time, the forward throw escape was inputted.

Those matches are awesome! Customisation aside, the Shun combo at the end was yummy, even though I don't really like Shun.... and the match between Goh and Van, delicious, those throw escapes were driving me nuts in round 5! [IMG]

Some nice highlights in that Shun vid. Seems to have lots of game from the ground now, the catch throw (?) from the ground at 3 minutes looks like a great little tool and was a neat trick to push the opponent back against the wall.

Also probably obvious but not something I noticed before, when Shun does his sake spit his drink counter initially goes up one, then down one when he spits it out.

Maskless Kage in casual wear makes his usual ninja antics look simply HILARIOUS, for some reason [IMG] .

BTW, there's something funny about a situation when it feels off that one of the characters in a modern-setting game is *NOT* wearing ridiculous antiquated ninja garb [IMG] .

Is Vanessa wearing some sort of prosthetic phallus in this picture?

Yes, I did come out of exile to ask that important question.
