Bodycheck is -32 on block which means Akira need to pay for random guess, and every character can launch big combos and take 80 damages at least.

Jeffry can do the same shit after evading by single Knee combos, and probably can take 80~90 damage. However, his knee blcok is -15 on normal block and -9 on side block(am I right? I'm not sure).

Bodaycheck is 120 damage and -32 on block, I'm okay with that.

I'm not, it's a single move that takes much less skill to input than a whole combos. Noobs could get lucky wins by pulling off bodychecks and totally not deserve it.

If noobs want to spam body checks against experienced players who knows how to punish, then it will work in favor of the experienced player 99/100 times. Body check has no evasive properties that I'm aware of and it's not even that fast anymore (18 frames...)

Still a whole frame faster than Eileens 66P and i land that ALL the time. And all i get is a measley +1 frames on NH and 66 damage (high 70's in R) on CH. Even with the fact that it is massively high risk, how many launchers are going to lead to 120 certain points of damage?

As soon as Akira gets you to +6/7 forget about Abare and just stand there and block. The Alternative is 55% of your Bar. Gone.

According to WIKI, OMP is 13f and OMK is 16f.
Does anyone know what's frame for OM move??

I was thinking you might be able to OM first after blcoking bodycheck, is that possible??

If that side damage thing that is on the body check worked for SPoD you would probably die instantly..

    Homestay will never lose...

Bodycheck definitely does alot of damage but on a side counter hit and even then you need to dash in pretty deep to get the full damage from it. 120 damage with -32 on block is a very steep trade off maybe you don't even see it like that yet. Think about it, body check here is being used after a successful evade - right? This means that the opponent is side turned and therefore your attack of choice will be safer on block. Why would you go for a 120 damage bodycheck with Akira when instead you could do KNEE and be like -7 on block? I've not saw Jeff's damage from his knee yet but I know that it's also safe on side block and I'm willing to bet that it will do something close to 120 damage and almost certainly upwards of that near a wall.

If you are going to abare from being evaded that's your prerogative really but bear in mind that you could get hit with a launcher and get punished with 100ish without you even attacking out of sideturn and even if the launcher is too slow to punish the move they evaded they will still be safe on block.

What so are you against making Akira, and in turn VF more accessible to new players or something?

That's what I thought as well, and if you would evade the bodycheck, would you be able to OM to the back of the opponent? Stagger -> crumple -> combo = FREAKIN' AWESOME PUNISHMENT!

I notice at the end of this match that Akira guards from a side-turned position after tech-rolling, anyone know why this would happen? Maybe if you guard late after recovery, the attack would would not track initially, moving the opponent to the side, then track and be guarded at the last moment?

True but lets remember this one. The Body check is not in the arsenal of most akira players flowchart and movesets. Once somebody breaks the habit and started abusing this move it WILL set off a domino effect.

I'm not saying Akira's bodycheck shouldn't take 120 damage, but it's definitely a strong weapon for Akira. I don't know about overpowered, but I think it's a bit more than fair.

In the hands of a good player, you would only evade -> side bodycheck on command; i.e. you'd be looking to see whether your opponent is doing a canned string. When you check that way, you will hardly ever get that bodycheck guarded. Simply put, Akira has an easy way to get 100+ damage off a side hit.

I was thinking the opponents can OM first to get a better position. Wall combo is everything!!
