I love how it's easier to see counter hits now. Big old splash of sweat gets smacked off the opponent. If button mashers don't get on VF now they will never get on.

Btw, I really hope they made Lei and Eileen even better for button mashers than before. Suck in some more of those casual players. After all, that's where the money's at =/
I've always known that VF could afford to lose some depth in order to draw in more casual players and make that Tekken/SF money. Man, I really hope they manage to walk that thin line with this version of VF. Here's hoping [IMG]

I tell you if they change Gohs base costume he'll suck in mad casual players himself. The blue bomber thing does look lame but that vid posted made him look badass. Frankly I love that attitude if they could make Jeffry less dumb and Wolf less corny but more mean I swear people would dig VF more.

    Re: VF5:FS Location Test Impressions

Thanks for the post - Wow, Goh's new opening move fits him perfectly. It reminds me of his VF4Evo ones; Damn cool. It looks like something from the Yakuza series.

It appears that they changed [6][K]'s animation at 0:34 and if that is the case it may have confirmed my suspicions about 1 move in FS having a different use depending on what state the opponent is in when it hits them. At 2:41 in gameplay trailer last month (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjAb7wTo628), Goh does the same Knee against Eileen when she's falling back after being bound and it transitions into a hit-throw instead!

Now, I could be wrong, but Goh's knee in VF5R is +19 on Counter-Hit and so is the new knee in VF5FS, so it seems like the same move to me. If Goh's knee goes into a combo when the opponent is standing and then it's a hit throw when they're in the air or falling back, that's just awesome.

Anyway, that new finger poke at 0:46 looks great! 13 frames to execute and a fall back stun on CH?? Wow, why is Goh getting all these amazing new moves? [IMG] - That new low kick at 1:17 and the foot stomp at 1:33 look useful too. Both +7 on CH, nice.

That was interesting at the end with Tsukami. The low throw dealt 25 damage, which should have K.O.'ed Lion, but it only took like, 1 damage off. That's odd that the low throw into Tsukami can't K.O. an opponent. Also, I'm almost thinking that they removed Goh's ability to step twice from Tsukami. In that new match, he just steps [6] once and the throw deals 65 damage? That's the max damage he could deal with two steps from Tsukami in VF5. I think that's great if they made Tsukami 1 step only before the throw. The 2 steps rarely ever worked in any competitive play that I saw. -- Goh almost seems like a completely new character now compared to how he was in VF5. Great Job, AM2.

It looks like you can use evade to get closer to your opponent when they are doing backdash.

The evasion on the backdash is a bit weird, I wonder if you can still punish the evade anyway.

Goh with the Shinya Aoki pants : P, and a pretty cool wall combo.

    Re: VF5:FS Location Test Impressions

Thanks again - Darn, only 1 new move that hasn't already been seen before; [9][P][+][K] looks great though. I'm glad Goh finally has a jumping mid move to quickly hop over lows. Also, it's nice to know he still has [4][6][P] and [4][6][K]!

That wall combo in the 3rd round was awesome and being able to get 92-108 damage from [6][K] in combos depending on wall position is a decent damage increase from R's combos with [6][K].

Ninjapapa mentioned in his description of that video that the hit-throw input for [6][K] at 1:54 in the video is [P][+][G]. Well, it's confirmed then that moves in FS can have different uses depending on if the opponent is hit when standing or is being bound. That's a great new addition to VF5FS. I wonder if you can only trigger the hit-throw in that one particular bound state or if it's any time that the opponent is in the air? Either way, that's darn cool.

No it's still -15. What you saw in the vid was the knee being guarded from the side.

    lolwut

FS fight mechanics are going to be interesting.. And I mean in a good way. I wonder whats the recovery on a backdash, cause I suppose you can ca...do a OM right into the succesful evade and end up somewhere close to behind the opponent..

Nice TFT combo with use of [4][6][K][+][G][K][K] (that jumping triple kick) twice against the wall. Ogi tells me that the last kick requires hit timing, similar to Eileen's.

[4][6][P][+][K][P] is -10 on guard, but with throws being 10f means that it's at least throw counterable.

Aoi's f+p+k,p is -10 now as well and also used to be -13.

A lot of the old -8/-9 moves are now -5/-6 Jacky b+kg-5 Kage fc,d/f+p -6

Aoi's elbow is now -4 as is Pai's f+p so if the throws are really 10fr you could still crouch dash fuzzy if it still takes 6 fr to crouch with cd. a number of characters like Jacky and Sarah have -5 elbows though.

I hope fuzzy is still decent in this game, I don't wanna abare too much :p I guess having an improved backdash will make up for it though.

Noticed a bunch of low attacks that give +7 on hit as well, Lion has one Pai has one Goh has one, as long as they are linear I guess it's ok :p

A ton of changes but other than the throw system(still iffy but it's starting to make more sense), I'm really liking everything so far. I like the new "bounce" animation as well, it kinda gives VF it own little niche as far as presentation is concerned. It's gonna be interesting how things turn out but I'm hoping for the best(and a console port).
