VF5 Goh's Black Book combos & other stuff

    you can ETEG after a tech roll, sometimes you can beat out what they do with an attack even.

    A'ight, so holding G after TR puts you in Crouching for a few frames, making ya vulnerable to Crouch throws.

    But you can avoid that situation by doing ETEG or Abare.

    I want to share a combo with you and don't want to make a new topic for it, so, here it goes.

    I randomly tried a bunch of attacks after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and came across doing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif right after.
    It knocks the opponent down.
    Due to the fact that the opponent is already slightly above the floor (okay, in the animation he even touches the floor) the opponent cannot react so fast WHEN you do it once in a battle to mix up /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.
    So you can use the surprising effect (because you make the full forward dash but instead of the combo you make /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif) to go for a ground throw.


    This (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif) gives you a 61 damage combo once in a battle (or a few more times, when the opponent is not good in techroll and has no luck to enter the right direction to escape the throw). It works on every character in any stance (I tested it in Dojo).

    Guess I should mention this combo I found off of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif that works on vanessa only. I don't think I've seen this done anywhere else but its possible to rebounce vanessa in both open and closed stance. The input is

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> OM(towards back) -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif

    It does 61 damage in closed stance and 58 in open. timing is also more difficult in open stance. The combo also works on lau in close stance but I couldn't get it to connect in open. If this was already known let me know...

    This sounds way more complicated. And for so much input and timing, there should be more than 61 damage.

    Thing is, timing isn't that difficult because it's all just fastest inputs. Off of the original rebounce timing was a factor because you had to know when to land the first 2p.

    Either way, I'll be using this on vanessa from now on because it gives him more damage in open stance against her and stance confirming this isn't as difficult because you only have to know hers.

    I messed around a bit with that combo a while back after seeing it in a Japanese match vid, and I have a couple things to add.

    First off, the OM isn't necessary for this combo. It is possible to do it from either stance, although the timing in open stance is much, much harder. In closed, you can just whiff a P for timing then do the combo.

    Also, it does actually work on other characters (at least the version starting in closed without an OM). I never really got around to trying it on too many people, but I believe I got it to work on Kage and Jacky (although the timing on Jacky was very tight as well).

    However, this was using Ver. B (the only version I have), so while I assume nothing would have changed going to C, that might not be the case.

    ^I am well aware of that combo you mentioned as it's common goh knowledge. It works only on closed stance vanessa, sarah, lau, lion, kage and goh (ver.c).

    What I am talking about is a variation that allows you to do this only on vanessa in open and closed stance. I was wrong before about the damage for some reason, it seems it does 56 damage in both stances. Which is still higher than the original open stance max damage on vanessa of 52.

    Ah, gotcha. Btw, you can actually use the previously known one (that I'm talking about) on multiple chars in either stance. I'll try yours out, though. Always like seeing new combos. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    Need help with the BB combos:

    66P+K CH. P. 66P+K. RAM: 82 dmg
    I understand that the command is actually more like:
    66P+K CH. 11P. 66P+K. RAM because 1 Frame Delay is required.

    Is there a trick to doing the 11P? Cos whenever I do that, I keep getting 1P.

    The trick is the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif motion will do a quick crouch dash then go to neutral and followup with the standing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.
    The /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif has to hit pretty late to get the float needed for the rest of the combo.

    The combo actually doesn't need /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/n.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. Its just the way Danny prefers to kill the frames necessary for the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif to float.

    I perform it by CH/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif (actually watch Goh take a slight step) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/n.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif --> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif
