um, hard to say really. i don't recall having any issues when we played, so connection must be pretty good.

wow, nice online stats btw, you must've been doing some serious ball busting with akira since i played you. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif throw me an invite sometime...i need to practice against a decent akira.

I admit that I was surprised there is no PR text either. At least you can display some text in the gamertag motto. But thats visible only if opponent wants to have a look.

I remember fighting you zeextremekid. I think our connection was pretty good. Online play is torture for me currently cause with pad I cant do even lowpunch or elbow reliably... I can't waaaait for the stiick!

Shut up you! You're just for anything and everything that could possibly make 360 version less attractive.

Of course, that's a given with 360 games these days. Just plug in the headset and speak till your hearts content

Haha, with 360 almost everybody has a headset, although, I notice when playing VF5 online people don't like to talk. They must be shy or something.

In fighting games I yell at myself for my screw ups and my own missed opportunties that I fumbled... I may mute myself so that my opponent doesnt thing I`m cursing at him.

Like when I pull off /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif then completely screw up the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif then I yell at myself

I live in Canda, we get our games two or three days because of the extra french manual slipped into the game to apease the bilingual laws

I expect voicechat to cause lag, thats why I dont use it.

ps. Today seemd a bad day for some reason, xbox.com was down a lot and my xbox disconnected from XBL on a regular basis... Now I had noticeable lag when playing against my friend from Sweden..

Like on most of the fighting games on xbox/360, many people choose not to talk cause it breaks their concentration. I always have my mic plugged in, but rarely do people start talking.

in ranked matches i don't talk. the assumption is that both players will want to concentrate on the win to boost their respective scores. there's also the possibility of mic communication contributing to lag during a competative match.

player matches, i usually plug my mic in on the off chance the person is talking, if not, not a problem, that's their choice.

but for me personally the player matches are a chance to relax a bit and try new stuff out without the pressure of trying to win.

where the mic is really invaluable is when you invite friends into matches...i've had allot of fun so far learning from and exchanging strategies with friends using this set-up.

for me it's the main appeal of the online mode.

Umm ... I provided a general statement implying what you don't like, others may. But whatever. I'm not the one with a grudge against a company for crazy-hyping their console!

PS3 wasn't hyped much differently from how PS2 was pre-launch. Remember "Toy Story graffix"!? PS2 does CG graffix!

Other's reasons are legit, but one reason I rarely use my mic now in public rooms is because of all the wankers who persist on calling me white boy, ni****, jew, gay, faggot, etc. For as many awesome people as there are on XBL, there's equally if not more garbage out there who seemingly change into a-holes when they can yell at people behind an anonymous source.

Hit the nail on the head there. The first month or 2 that VF5 is out, you'll run into a lot of those people. After that, only the good guys with good attitudes stick around. I remember when DOA4 came out the people were terrible to play with. After a few months though, its almost worth playing that dumb game just to have a nice conversation with a stranger.

Ive heard some tiny whimpering noises occasionally when I have crushed people /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Anyway, regarding lag, I have to take back a bit what I said earlier. My stick arrived and I broke out my Akira. since I play very framesharp game with him the lag is now much more noticeable. Although still in the best connection matches it is possible to compensate for it. It is still possible to do everything, but the lag between inputs and what happens on screen is obvious. But like I said, it is possible to compensate for it by inputting earlier and ignoring hit confirmation etc on screen. Its bit like inputting combos blindfolded at times though /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

how much lag will affect people's performance propably depends on theri skills, and some people propably wont notice anything out of ordinary..

Well I liked the game so I dont think It's dumb but I wish there was a lobby system similar to DOA. I had a lot a great fun with random strangers on there.

I realise that having spectators could lead to lag but there could be a lobby system for like 8 people. but instead of having for spectators everyone would have their own match and then return to the same lobby afterwards to chat a bit. Or you could just go staight back to fighting.

A system like that makes it easier to play with multiple friends and then just switch opponents after every match.
