Although the finishing throw does look like reused seoi otoshi (old tsukami 64P+G), the transition from grab through headbutt to throw looked much more seamless than the usual tsukami actions to me... Besides, isn't low tsukami supposed to be preceded by a knee hit?

If it was indeed a tsukami action (I doubt it though), then the only "direction" left would be tsukami neutral P+G , I suppose.

In any case, the reason I like it so much is not because of how "painful" it would look, but how mean, underhanded and probably unexpected for the opponent such a grab-headbutt-throw combination is - and as such, absolutely fitting the character. A lot of characters knee faces, but what Goh does is art [IMG] !

It's just nice seeing all the new options out of tsukami. Myke is right Goh is has such a better hit game now(I can't wait to hit people with that right hook that side turns)

Wow, 77 damage from [6][6][P][+][G] at 1:34. Tech-able I know, but still, that reminds me of VF5R's 66P+G combos.
Just wanted to mention, I don't know what I was thinking with that post, lol. That alternate low throw is obviously just [3][3][P][+][G] or something [IMG].

Also, I just wanted to ask a quick question: Could anyone with a VF5FS Master Guide (or anyone who has played FS) confirm that Goh still has that brutal half-fence wall throw from VF5R? (This wall throw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9NVVC5DvQk) I still haven't seen it once in VF5FS, and I've seen more FS Goh matches than I care to admit!

According to the Masters Guide, he has a half fence wall throw with the [IMG][6][P][+][G] command called Onigumo which does 70 pts damage. Whether or not it has been reanimated I couldn't tell you, since I've yet to see it in a vid as well.

Didn't have have two wall throws in R? Maybe they've removed one of them then.

The throw I mentioned is specifically a half-fence throw. In addition, the Masters Guide shows [4][6][P][+][G] and [6][4][P][+][G] as wall throws doing 70 pts each, which probably work on either wall height.

Awesome! It's great to know that Goh still has all 3 wall throws from VF5R. I was hoping that they hadn't removed the half-fence one when they changed the throw system in FS. And hopefully, they wouldn't reanimate it, it's already the best throw ever.

Thank you for checking that, Myke.

This is a good match but check out the last round.

at 2:45, it appears Goh is doing a basara but the the initial and followup hits are high. He lands it again at 2:52. It looks faster than the original basara as well. Did they change the properties on basara?

woooooo. It looks sweet! Do you think that will make it harder or easier to land? I'm thinking easier.

Also, does anyone else think the new side-turned block doesn't look to add much to the game?? I can't help but think it looks more like an annoyance than a positive addition. (it's hard to say based on just seeing videos).

    It's not the basara.

You've probably seen the first hit performed many times before -- a high head hook (command is [4][P]). It has a continuation with [4][P][P] which will shift to a throw automatically on hit (similar to [P][K][P])

How would you describe the character now ?
In VF5 I used to say he was a character with a lot of sabaki, a bit slow but kind of hard hitter, with strong throws and balanced between offense and defense.

But when I tried him on FS I felt the character was more offense and grapple oriented than before.
Would peoples who played him consistently on FS confirm that ?

Thread revival! [IMG] Anyway, just want to say, yes, a lot of the links in this thread's first post are down. Sorry about that. I didn't think Zoome would be going out of business. I'd update them if I could, but obviously I can't edit it. I don't think an update is needed anyway though since anyone who wants to see Goh's new moves can just see them soon in FS's Dojo mode! [IMG]

Heh, lucky you! Already tried Goh in FS I see. Still gotta wait until tuesday here.

Anyway, yeah from what I've seen of Goh in FS over the years, he does seem more offense oriented now. He has so many more useful attacks (like his 66P and 3KP) so Goh doesn't have to rely on counter-hits, sabakis (etc.) as much as he used to. Goh's Tsukami is so much more viable now as well, so yes, I think that you could say he's more grapple oriented now too.

Of course, this is just my "I-haven't-played-Goh-in-FS-yet-damn-it!" opinion, so I'm sure someone else could give a better description of FS Goh than me. Haunts, Shag, get in here! [IMG]

I just tried the character in Arcade without any command list, nor training mode. So I guess my play style was far from being good but to me a lot of moves were leading to throws or situations where it was easy to throw. But it may be because I didn't know proper combos at that time.

If that is the case, then it seems to me that Goh is still this throw-oriented character who requires the player to get back to basics employing nitaku situations. I like that a lot.

Hey Leo it's been a while!

I don't really know if the character is really throw-oriented. I just tried a bunch of times on arcade against the CPU, since there was no real VF scene in the town I used to live. There was maybe options to avoid those nitaku but at that time I hadn't played VF since a while so I used the basics.

There is so much difference it would be almost like comparing Jin Kazama in Tekken 3 and Tekken 4.

So after actually playing what do you guys think of this version of Goh. I honestly can't remember much from the vanilla days but I'm digging the half circular mid and his guardbreak.

his new 3kp string is awesome too. Been getting a lot of milage out of that.

I think this Goh is great, takes a little getting used to after so many changes but he's got some nice new tools, especially 3PP and 9+P+K I call it the slamdunk, 46P+K,P,P+G seems to catch lots of people too, I've still got a long way to go but new Goh feels like a very strong character.

Goh also got some of the best costume customisations in the game too [IMG]
