I guess I had it wrong, my bad.

I was just trying to find other reasons, based on how other games manage to come out of the blue. Some of the most competitive games, have terrible barebones interfaces and no online play too, so I tried to find other things that may be factors.

    Sorry about that.

Oh and I must admit, when I had bought 4evo before getting 5 on 360, I still enjoyed 4evo more. So I'm total agreement.

Maybe overall it's just parts from all of these factors, but obviously what I was talking about wasn't as big a factor as I was thinking.

Ahh the days of And Eddy Faq page where I'd go to get my movelist fix and call it a day.

I do however believe that communities can play a factor in the success of a video game. In the case of SRK I believe that their love of SF has had an impact by not only feeding the fanboys but because they've played a major part in attracting more media to their fighting game scene.

Yea, I can dig it too bout online communities playing a big success being a strong root for a game. I just think when we drift off into other shit besides being on some VF stuff (even while on VF stuff sometimes), it seems to drag off into the matches (and helps make lack of) Online somehow. I'm doin it now + most of my post count. And I know ima make more, but ima try to cut down on the bs and my opinions that don't have to do with VF.

Communities ARE dope. Plauge's, NY's n whoever else get togethers, finding players in your region/state, events, news, the wiki, frame data, Dojo, etc. That's where it's at, on some finding/making matches, sharing and learning type stuff. I'm thankful this is here for all that to find.

I still can't say enough that I really hope for a good Training Mode (like how people say VF4's was) if they release FS for the sake of the new players. This one don't even tell/teach you fundamentals. Fuck yea it's gonna feel hard to play, you don't know and it don't tell you shit bout how to defend yourself or how to use offense in VF lol. My bad, it does say how to escape a throw on the loading screen.

Its kinda not fair to say the MMA games are jumpin on the bandwagon. I've still got K-1 kickboxing for the PS1. So they go back a long ways. Also UFC 2009,UFC2010 and EA's MMA game have sold about 10 million copies collectively. They're not jumpin on the bandwagon they're setting the bar.

I actually think that's part of the problem. Sega and the shareholders see that the MMA games are selling millions of units in the first year. Will Sega shareholders even let Sega spend money on a console version of VF5FS that might generate 600 thousand units (PS3 + XBOX) in sales.

Sega looks at VF as primarily a Arcade business. Unfortunately, and ironically, I think the success of the MMA games might keep VF5FS in the arcades. If a console port of VF5FS cannot sell millions of units in the first year then it will be perceived as a failure by shareholders and the market place. I think Sega knows that it will not sell millions of units, and therefore they have no immediate plans to port a console version of VF5FS. I really hope I'm wrong. I need VF5FS on the PS3. I need it!

But for economic reasons, I'm starting to doubt it will ever happen [IMG]

I don't think people are looking at the big picture here. VF does not have strong following in the US. It simply doesn't. That's reason enough to not release any of these games to console. It's not a "simple exercise" and it costs a lot of money and time to do so. Put it this way, by not porting VF to a console, what is Sega losing? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

For every one of us that may say "Aww man, I'm done with Sega, I'll never buy one of their games again", there's a new 7 yr-old kid who just got Sonic Colors for the DS, and Sega's got a new fan.
