Kage's new 'TFT' option looks so damn stylish. Even if it's basically the same thing, that axe kick is sick.

Damn, that Fuudo guy has gotten even better. He actually makes Lion look... dare I say it? Cool (no homo, no pedo).

What tradition? That move wasn't a part of her arsenal until FT anyway. The hit throw does more damage then the combos of it in 5 does (except on Lion). Looks like it still tech crouches as well.

That "no one" doesn't know it's punishable is just....well...

The first clip contains a feature I hope finds its way into the game proper, and hopefully the home port too, if there ever is one. Overall; an entertaining match. The second clip demonstrates what is possibly the most slick/degrading throw I've seen, outside of the Soul Calibur series, in a fighting game. You can't miss it.

Interesting at 0:54ish that the Aoi instablocks the down attack from wall slump.

Both those fights were nice! You were right about Lei-Fei's hit-throw, it's the best I've seen in the game yet.
What feature is it that you hope finds it's way into the home port?

Nicovideo is awesome, I only wish I could understand the words that flash atop the screen during fights.

The El Blaze vs Kage Maru clip features Wolf's VF5 bgm instead of his R version. Overall I actually prefer the R soundtrack to the regular 5 version (especially Eileen, Lei Fei, Vanessa, Pai and Dural's bgms which I thought were all crap in 5) with the distinct exception of Jacky's, which I loathe.

Jacky’s new tune is too fast and lacks substance in my opinion; the original had a tenacious "training montage" quality to it which really clicked with me. Akira and Lion’s are off too, but I never liked their 5 versions either so they don’t bother me so much. While I really liked Sarah and Goh’s old bgms their new ones sound just as good to me if not better.

Seeing as I’ve invested more time than I expected in replying, I might as well give my summary of the R soundtrack:

Akira: I prefer the 5 version but that wasn’t much to listen to anyway. His last good bgm was in Evo/FT with VF2 being his highpoint (though VF1 was pretty good too). AM2 should’ve taken a leaf out of one of those tunes because the R version just doesn’t gel with Akira’s established "macho", persevering persona in my opinion.

Aoi: Ironically, they slowed her bgm down a bit and weaved a piano layer into it which adds an air of class and sophistication, fitting for Aoi and I think it’s better than her 5 version.

Brad: Both are pretty tame and relaxed, though the R version hints at being a tad funkier but never really drives it home which is a shame.

Dural: A huge improvement, it sounds much more climatic now; like I’m actually fighting a boss. Dural usually had one of my favourite bgms in each version of VF and I’m glad she’s been returned to form.

Eileen: The jingle in the character intro is rather deceptive as I didn’t like what I heard initially but the actual bgm from beginning to end is actually rather good. I was quite surprised how much it’s grown on me.

    El Blaze: Indifferent.

Goh: The R version just beats the 5 version with its warped organ; it fits Goh’s “damaged” and “twisted” vibe better to me.

Jacky: Prefer 5 for reasons already mentioned above.

Jean: It’s too harsh. Perhaps if I heard it in its entirety I might be able to distinguish something from it but from what I can hear it’s just clichéd poor death metal.

Jeffery: The R version has a little more rock (electric guitar) in it but it’s still the same “jungle bongo drum” bs that AM2 keep regurgitating for Jeffery. His VF2 track was his apex; they should’ve maintained that same heavy vibe.

Kage: I prefer the R version as it actually has structure to it. The 5 version was just a wall of techno beats, with a dash of flute and a minor lull near the end before it repeated itself. Completely forgettable. While the R version doesn’t blow me away, I can however actually listen to it.

Lau: like Jacky’s its too fast and doesn’t have a theme to ground it, it’s just noise to me.

Lei Fei: The R version has more depth to it and a greater sense of urgency that puts it above the old 5 version to me.

Lion: I don’t like either version. The 5 version was too grand and lacked character while the R version, more morbid and haunting, continues to compound the original’s faults.

Pai: Quite a large step up in my opinion; I can hear the semblance of a beat and a theme to her new tune while the 5 version was just ambient music in the same vein as the VF4 soundtrack, which for the most part I disliked.

Sarah: Sarah’s bgm was arguably my favourite in 5 yet her new R version is just that bit better. They’re completely different styles of music but they both work for me on different levels and the R version is most welcome by me.

Shun: Both versions are quite similar and neither left a lasting impact on me.

Taka: It’s ok; it sounds appropriate for the character and the stage.

Vanessa: Like Pai’s old version 5 track Vanessa’s said more about her stage to me than her character, her new one however sounds very aggressive and militant and seems to fit her well in my opinion.

Wolf: Prefer his 5 version; it sounded calmer, more methodical and stood in contrast to some of the other more upbeat tracks in 5. His version R track isn’t bad, but it’s not what I have in mind when I think of Wolf and his previous bgms. It sounds more like something Jacky might have *shrug*.
