Kujo vs Akira clip... makes Akira look old in gamedesign and character imo. Tbh Kujo makes Akira look like shit here in my opinion as a character all in all.

I would like to dispute what you said. Jean is wonderful, but Akira is a beefy chap and moreover Akira is the personification of badass-ness! He is sipmly the ultimate badass!!!

 

I second this. Akira is just so iconic. He -is- VF. He can look as generic as he wants, he's still badass lol.

Akira's design depicts "badass" from VF4. If you see Akira's design in VF2-3 you realize that he is not looking that badass. But after VF4 and especially in VF5 he is extremly badass: he has a belligerent/extreme attitude, a fierce behaviour, a dragonish nature, an electrified presence and he is beefy/brawny as hell!!

VF5 version of Akira makes me cum! I can't wait to see his design in VF6....

Jean looks like a bullshi1 Ken with Grey hair. Huis whole style is Dripping Ein from DOA4

 

I noticed his moves were hella similar to Ein's too it's Ein + Jin Kazama.

Definitely noticed that too. Which is fine with me. Seeing their style elements put into a VF environment sounds dope to me. Looks like it's working well thus far too with Jean.

 

Jean reminds me of Tekken. Although VF is my one and only, I still think Tekken has cooler designs in general.

Design-wise, he's pretty much a "punk"-style homage to Ken Masters, just as Akira is an "extreme"-attitude homage to Ryu...

As has been said, his fighting style definitely takes what's best from Ein and Jin's and combines them...Into what is the best rendition of Karate in a 3D fighter IMO...

Just as Goh brought a much-needed "tude"(attitude) to VF, Jean does as well, with his brutal fighting style, bad-ass intro/win-poses, etc...

@TheWorstPlayer-It's good that Jean reminds you of Tekken, because I bet that was their(AM2) intention in designing him in such a way...In the hopes of attracting those Tekken players...As well as just general people who look at the game and are considering playing it.

Long as it doesn't play anymore like Tekken I could care less. If it starts playing like
Tekken I'm going to eat a bowl of chili before poopin on it and sending it back to

Man, I am loving these redone stages and the new music. The lighting reminds me more of EVO for some reason, and the music reminds me of older VF iterations more and more. Super digging these changes so far. I do hope though, that the original stages remain in selection.
