How I play depends on how well my opponent knows me and how I'm using. If i'm using eileen It can help me mix up things like I normally wouldn't. But I can't think nearly as clearly as normal so I can't keep up with a deathmatch.

If I'm using Shun though I have this ability to get his as drunk as I am in RL and somehow pull out moves that I never seem to use while sober. So Shun is my drunken fighter of choice when I'm blasted.


Jeneric how are they defining dangerous in that study because i def don't agree with some of the items on the bottom on that list.

I don't find any particular relations between fighting games and alcohol.

However, with my other favourite genre (2D shooters) I've had some quality runs after some alcohol. I guess it helps to deal with the otherwise relentless pressure of trying to freaking 1cc the game.

Also, I'm extremely happy I made it into Sebo's signature, it was my target after giving up on becoming a good VFer.

The Lancet is a UK based thing. I don't trust Engies!! I duno about Ecstasy and LSD being lower than Alchohal but... I'm not a scientist either lol. What about Phencyclidine, don't see that on the list either. (Not that I'm some drug guru lol. I haven't done any outside of Alcohal, but I'm informed!)

I'm gona wait for the next Arcadia issue to come out and see what they think of the tier listings. I bet they have it as middle upper, or B-.

Some of the criteria are strange. I agree alcohol belongs up there. It is bad for the body, but the accidental deaths are wrose. Alcohol plays a huge role in driving, boating, and exposure fatalities. Don't forget domestic violence also.

LSD can be totally harmless, or it can bring out latent psychoses in individuals and mess them up for life (Brian Wilson and Sid Barret).

Pot can cause permanent brain damage, my old professor said, but only when the user smokes a joint a day for a year or more. The Hippocampus gets all messed up in that case. Otherwise its biggest drawbacks are that it kills drive and it is illegal. Some type A personalities can smoke pot and be totally high functioning and productive. Other people who are laid back in general become total reprobate do-nothings when they smoke pot all the time.

I have heard Ecstasy can cause some damage to memory. It also can cause kidney failure, especially when mixed with booze.

Say "No" to booze and drugs, kids.

 

As a recovering alcoholic myself (4 years sober in August). I can honestly say that a little recreational drinking mixed with some gameplay can be tons O' fun. Just don't end up like I was:ALL DRINKING, NO GAMEPLAY! Wasted a lot of good years.

 

^ Good stuff man, don't know you but still proud of you. I'll tone down the pro-drinkingness on here then. I really drink on rare occasion but even then, no need to talk about it.

Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drug but prohibiotions makes it even worse. That is why it's legal.
Small amount of alco rise your precision. It also rise your driving skills - only small amount works like that : ). Try on a racing game.


LSD is very interesting one. It can made new connections between neurons - permanetly. This can be very good or very bad. Theoretically it can rise IQ or/and give some new talents. It can also make you crazy.

Ecstasy is almost harmless but pills that you can buy aren't just pure MDMA. It's a total shit that almost nobody knows what it's made from. Usually there is some amphetamine.

Actually ecstacy (pure MDMA) is pretty bad for you dude. Look it up. If you are at a rave or something and you know you are getting a pure MDMA pill AKA "Molly" , then it is SAFER than taking something that may have other drugs, but MDMA itself can cause lasting negative effects after only a short period of time.

my buddy used to do ex... one day we were drinking and after one beer he was all over the place (slurring, falling over, completely inebriated) and we thought he was on some other shistuff. the next day we told him something was up and he should probably go to a doctor to see if he was sick. turns out he put a hole in his brain that completely screwed up his motor skills when slightly under the influence of anything. even when he wasn't drinking he was never the same. such a shame really because he was never really hardcore into it and he was a good guy.

My friend almost killed himself when he was drank.
Negative effects are caused by almost every drug. Even coffee.
