Virtua Fighter 20th anniversary

I just want more stuff for FS and, of course news regarding VF6.

 

I'm the sort of sad, long-in-the-tooth otaku gamer that sits surrounded by gaming posters and figurines, especially from stuff like SF and FF, so would love to be able to finally buy some decent VF related models, wall scrolls, resin kits etc.

20 years... may as well be 200, with how much the world, and I guess many of our own lives, has changed so much since the early '90s.

DUDE, I would buy the crap out of those. And Eileen. A dress-up Eileen. And also everyone else in the game. Because toys.

I wish Joyride Studios would have made more of the characters when they did the VF4 line. To my knowledge, they only did Lau and Akira. The Lau figure was particularly cool.

 

If you go on Yahoo! Japan Auctions and search "バーチャファイター," you'll find a surprising amount of cool figures, plush toys, etc.

They should totally do an FS/VF6 version with VF2 graphics and music like with VF's 15th anniversary did with Evo.

 

If only I knew what the hell I was doing. Those figures are awesome!

 

Yeah, great link, gotta try that more often. It's a really delicious full hand-painted resin kit Pai I'm after ~__^ They put out some fantastic Shining Tears figures a few years back, similar to the Sakura Wars ones above, but my funds were sorrowfully depleted at the time. Some of these items, you never really see come up again.

Maybe they will do a little outfit add-on for FS, to fill up some of those spare blocks? Could tie costumes in with homages to older classics like Streets of Rage, Golden Axe or Phantasy Star.

 

You can do SoR costume in this one as well as Golden Axe. I have some Shinobi ones from the arcade game and RoS on the Genesis.

 

Oh no, looks like Tekken's one jump ahead with those 16-bit Sega costumes!

 

While I love streets of rage 3 I never noticed how horrible Axel looks on the cover.

On topic, Either another anime series or a manga series. Anything to get to know the characters better and develop their personalities more......plus a gaiden where Goh runs into someone who looks suspiciously like Kazuya Mishima and after an effortless bout Goh leaves him face down drowning in a pool of his own blood.

When is this 20th anniversary exactly? I thought there would be something VF related announced at that time?

 

It's this year, but the original Virtua Fighter came out in December of 1993, so it could take as long to get some proper news.

Personally, I think they're going to announce something for the 20th anniversary at SEGA Cup.

 

This..... There is a high chance of that. Since SC is a huge event 4 VF. Probaly the biggest this year.

 

In US?
For sure.

Worldwide?
There are bigger in Japan most probably. Also, Japan is VF land, unlike US. At least from the Sega's point if view, as it was presented multiple times in the past.

Because of this, I will not be so sure they will announce something ant Sega Cup. I hope they will, but I am afraid my wishes will not come true.
