Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown online casuals tournament (PSN)

Thats the spirit!! Believe it or not we are torn btwn XBL and PSN right now. SO confusing! I dont mind as I can host on any. Maybe I should do a vote ? Haven't played it on XBL yet, but are your fights generally stable ?

Yes 95% of the time the matches on XBL 4 me are great I can connect play as far as Japan in some cases. And Iam on a wired connection as well. No disconnects in room matches certainly nothing worth mentioning either.

Also, the tourney matches will be in a room, right ? I would like to know how we can prevent some players from cheating ( disconnecting when they are about to lose, or pretend they win even if they lose badly)

Nobody here in the community would trust Snake Boss. He is also already excluded from the VF circuit tourney online, for thoses reasons.

And for the plateform, xbox 360 is a good choice: more stable, less lag, and less DC in rooms.

I was unaware it was actually that bad, thank you for saving me and a lot of people from a heartache because it would have been tragic and unfair to people who are genuinely in this to have a great time and win a great prize. I have read the thread and have decided that the tournament will be hosted over XBL. I will be buying an XBOX 360 and a GOLD subscription this weekend purely for this, as I intend to make this an enjoyable experience (a good excuse to break away from project development).

And regarding the disconnections, don't worry. Once I get the required amount of players (8), I will be setting up the rules and regulations for the tournament to ensure all our efforts aren't soiled by players wanting to be unfair. After the matches, I will hold a vote to decide if we felt anyone was cheating. If they are, then they get no prize. It's simple as that. I won't be giving a PS VITA (or any prize) to cheats. It's just not fair.

I am surprised he is notorious for this (seeing as he was calling me a scammer and a troll not too long ago). He has been banned from the tourney. I wouldn't know any better seeing as I am new here and I thank you for the heads up.

Why not finalise the competitors, and then hold a vote as to whether the community feels as if they are worthy of competing or not, before even setting the tourney date?

That's one way you can almost guarantee fair play throughout the tourney, by ensuring that only players who are respected in the eyes of their peers take part in the competition.

It would make for a clean, scandal-free tournament from start to finish.

After much consideration, I have finally decided that ...............

This particular opening tournament will be hosted on BOTH consoles. It is a fair decision given that I would hate to alienate any good players due to the choice of their console (s). The tournament will be held held on XBL first, then PSN afterwards. What this means is that should you have BOTH consoles, you can only participate in ONE of these console specific tournaments (The rule applies to me as well, choose your console wisely!!!).

At this point in the VF5FS' lifetime I think we have come to realize that unless you are down the street from your opponent there will be lag (especially on PSN).

I haven't played Pana in ages, but at this point....whatever. I'll deal with it. Otherwise, this tourney will have to be split into regions where only 2 or 3 people can actually play each other with full bars (a la VF Circuit).

That's too much. I say we all just suck it up and play, see who wins regardless of connections (unless the DCs get too massive). Just my opinion...

I need a confirmed date for me to even consider it personally because my work schedule doesn't let me play late on most days if I find time to play at all. That is the only grip I have personally. I know the games will be laggy potentially unless it is on XBL but still I said what I needed to say unless I get a confirmed date and time I can't make a clear decision the console doesn't matter to me either because I can play the game on both systems regardless just the same.

 

Pana, It's all good bro. I agree with you. I want to play VF as well. But that's very hard to do these days with PSN the way it is. I dislike 1 bar fights, but if that's all there is, then so be it.

He cheated to reach the highest rank of the game, by using at least 3 differents accounts, then boosting his account "blackbeltspartan" on PSN. And of course, the others alt accounts he has has all the red face icon, which mean he DC a billion of time when he's about to lose, to reach the rank. And then he braggs about his rank everywhere, and pretend everybody lies when we tell him we know how he did that. ( I mean, in response to the videos I posted as an evidence, he has nothing to answer other than " your videos are fake and biased" )The guy lives in deny and is the most dishonest person of the community, how such a kid with so bad sportmanship can be in your tournament. Considering what he has done just to reach a virtual and meaningless rank, what do you think he will do if you offer actual prizes for the winner of this tourney ?
