If you tell your fans sorry no R they get pissed and may never comeback.

If you don't say a word and wait you just keep those fans waiting and when its announced they are happy to buy.

Probably because they didn't want to give away that FS was in the planning stages.

    ^ this

If a game is released in the arcade, a developers job is to maximize the longevity of the title. Letting the cat out of the bag about a successor to a just released title is bad business and could possibly shorten the games lifespan.

Besides, as much as the fans bitch and moan about FU sega, etc., when the new game they've wanted comes out, they quickly forget about the past and get excited.

I'll be honest, ever since they made it clear VF5R wasn't coming out- I've not bought a single thing from Sega (and still won't on PC- because PC Sega is horrible).

I've said all along that what would change that is a new VF. They do this, my boycott is over.

That said you're probably right- If they had said, you're not getting R, but may get a title down the line, I would have been more accepting- but I may have been in the minority on this.

Unsure if you have any pull with Sega (this is to LA Akira), but if you can, please suggest these things for the console port. (none of this is gameplay-related, most of this would be fairly easy to do except the last part)

    a) Blazblue-style button config (they'll get this, I'm sure they played the console port of Blazblue at least once)

    b) Ability to gain customization items via online/versus play. No one here probably wants to play 20 hrs through quest mode to get the item they want, they'd rather spend 20 hours in versus mode.

    c) Show disconnect percentages like SF4, but not count first round disconnects- I think this is the fairest/most effective way to do this.

This is really good news, just what i needed to hear to cheer me up after having to pull out of a deal to buy a Lindbergh cab yesterday, would have been a great combination

There's a thread for suggestions... (Even if nobody at Sega will read it.)
And I wouldn't want that. Casual games should be casual, I don't want to compete for items or eat an asshole move at the end of the round because the Kage kid wants his plastic shuriken. Some suggestions are good because nobody has a reason to disagree, but some others like this one are opinions, so let's simply wait and see what they come up with.

My game isn't in English, so I picked an understandable word randomly. ;P

What's the proper name for unranked matches? ...I hope it's not unranked.

^ Thats actually a great idea. The online mode needs more bells and whistles. Nobody said you had to earn the items online only, the single player quest would stay intact if you prefer earning items offline. IF you think lack of online item matches gives players less incentive to spam you with a cheap move , you're on something. There's a reason online is 50 % Lei Feis and Jackys.

Initially, I expect VF5 FS online to be full of Jeans Kujos and Taka Arashis. I'm still rolling with El Blaze, though. Man , I can't WAIT to use his new ground throw on players!!!!!! Good Times ahead, Bro's. Im buying both PS3 and Xbox versions day one.

It will be Jean, Kage and Goh with a few Akiras. Then they will all move to Lei, then Eileen, then Lau then Lei again and then Wolf.

Then everyone will go back to whatever else and we'll be exactly where we were a year or so ago except with a mo re up to date version of the game.

It's called player match, I agree there shouldn't be items on the line in player match but it be a nice feature to have in ranked matches. Pullers and players with poor connections could cause a lot of problems there though.

I'm happy with any item/money distribution system as long as I can keep using my autofire pad to get all of it for me while I'm at work.

Nonsense because everything is an opinion, like wanting a training mode that doesn't suck? Yeah I guess some people might prefer VF5's dojo...

Or nonsense because Sega is without a doubt on their knees, speedtranslating all the suggestions written on VFDC in an attempt to please the american and european masses like they always do?
