Yes I did. The clip in question is: up0062.wmv.

    Link: http://www.hk-vf.net/staging/frame_set/tv2.html

    Posted on the “06/06/08†(Y/M/D).

The combo in question appears at 1:05:

    [6][P]+[K]+[G], [P]+[K], [6][P]+[K], [P], [6][6][P]+[K][P], [6], [K]. With an [8][P] down attack thrown in for good measure.

Which, in the “VF5 Brad Thread†I’ve started translates as:

    "<font color="red">D:</font> [P]+[K] sabaki, [6][P]+[K], [P], [6][6][P]+[K][P], <font color="red">D:</font> [K]. With an [8][P] down attack thrown in for good measure."

I made one too, for my own screen resolution of 1680x1050. A little different layout. Widescreen users enjoy! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think this clip is the infamous example of the effectiveness of the new OM system. I’m converted, that’s for sure… /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Akira vs Goh - perfect example how bounce is stretching tiers apart.

Any standard Yoho combo would have ended it just the same, so I don't think that example's really all that perfect. I suspect, by the way, that that IS the standard Yoho combo in VF5. The shoulder ram seems to push them too far away in floats.

What's starting to piss me off more than the bounce is the wall splat. That seems to be where a lot of the crap is going down, particularly when the bounce is added in.

Sorry, but Yoho as MC will lead normally in nearly 50% damage. Only "bad" think I ca nimagine at this one combo is that the last dbplm looks like it will miss and it wasn't /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

its not the fact that its a yohou combo, its the effort involved opening up other possibilities. While akira can benefit from bounce easy input combos in clinch situations, goh can put 2x the effort and still result in a loss. Like i said before its stretching the tiers out.

Maybe the [4][3][P] slam is TR'able (not that I've seen it happen).

I don't know how you can conclude that from the clip. It was a 3rd dan Goh vs a 2nd dan Akira. The Goh player...I don't know if he was having a bad day or a Goh beginner who faced easy competition when he started, but he was making a lot of mistakes: whiffed [4][K], going for the small down attack after elbow-throw, etc. AND the game came down to the last hit. Sooo...don't know how you came to the conclusion that tiers are stretched.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters about combos is the bottom line DAMAGE, not whether the opponent crumples, floats, bounces, twists, splits in two, whatever during the combo. And as others pointed out, Akira never had a problem getting near half life damage from an MC yoho combo.

(Ditto with Jeffry BTW. He was always able to get half life damage from [4][6][P] and SE wall, bounce or not).

Speaking of which, Lei Fei's damage potential seems to have increased significantly. His standard combo ender now seems to be [P] or [2][P] > [3][3][P] > double jump kick, and he also gets his own bounce combo opportunities. You must be happy. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Lei Fei will never be good enough.

If the damage is the same why didnt akira go for the standard shoulder double palm combo in the clinch situation? Its because bounce makes things easier for combo characters, and they reap the benefits much more easily. Where as characters like goh seem to continue to suck. So as far as bounce combos are concerned, goh doesnt benefit so he remains neutral and akira benefits greatly and moves up - wouldnt you call that stretching the tiers?

Leifei combo damage is definately up with the A2 change move. I wish sega AM2 would do something about his defense (guard speed out of stance), or add a throw options from stance instead of raising combo damage.

Srider- lau players dont even know the feeling character complaints. touche. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Because it no longer works? Because it's not as stylish? Who really cares--when I play against a competent Akira opponent I expect to get half life damage from an MC yoho.

Also...don't know how Goh stacks up to other characters in VF5 but he's been greatly improved from FT. Seriously, that Goh player did not play well in that clip.
