If Namco decided to actually listen to the fans' requests and not just make a dumbed down version of Tekken, TTT2 would've been out by now...

They should also make the combos harder to pull off imo... I mean doing combos that require skill should be rewarding somehow. I mean I don't even play with Alisa, but I can take more than half of your life from the start of round 1...

As far what the podcast says about VF in pt 2 I agree with it considerably to a certain degree though. Flare and flash like what we see in SF or Tekken isn't needed to a degree like we see in other games it would get in the way of the fundamental of VF overall. The gameplay shouldn't tweaked as much as people from the outside say because it wouldn't be VF anymore it would be something different and that would pull many true veterans away from the game of it. Some flash is needed though and it really would help to bring new people in. I like the whole podcast as well especially the Ryan Hart Interview and the emphasis on fundamentals, basic fundamentals that can apply to just about any fighting game not just Tekken or VF.

Listening to part two, and he makes a good point about VF in regards to presentation. And apparently, Tekken 6 is the opposite: All flash, poor gameplay. Shame, since I love both.

Mecha G I can't agree with you more. After Namco stripped offline ranking I could not enjoy Tekken 6. I hope that SEGA doesn't make that same mistake.

It wasn't as bad in comparision to the first podcast... I just hope Sega reads these boards (and maybe, just maybe even SRK), whateva with a podcast...

Yeah the mass juggles, that is a nightmare. Only noobs and scrubs enjoy this. You guys know what is funny? After I finally defeat one of these guys they send me hate mail. That is why I quit Tekken. I should not have to be forced to play online to enjoy a game. Sega, please I hope you continue to keep Virtua Fighter the way it is and don't ever be like Tekken. Please do not take away the offline ranking system like Namco did with Tekken 6.

Points of interest: Namco have stepped in and increased the prize pot for Tekken 6 at Evo. The producers of SF4, MVC3 and Tekken 6 will all be at Evo. The next Tekken may be revealed at TGS in September. Arcade stick discussion and how the SF4 TE stick came to be. VF gets a brief mention - apparently the guy at Namco who's in charge of balancing the characters in Tekken, plays VF.

It is rather funny that there have been 3 podcasts already, and in each one VF has had a mention. The first 2 straight up had a full blown discussion, even though the only person that knew what they were talking about was Ryan Hart. It would be rather interesting to get D.K. on that podcast or a top VF player.

I do like the fact that though its primarily a Tekken podcast, they still have time to talk about other fighting games...

I saw these guys at EVO when TEkken 6 was going. The main guy is really overweight and has a big beard.

I have to say, when they're talking about VF, saying that basically it's a good game that isn't being given it's due because it's short on initial hook, they're right IMO

If you really listen he says a few times the game is good, but it doesn't have that spark that makes people wanna pick it up right off the bat (to most American players), it's just a really honest assessment of what's been true here for a long time. He says "it's unfortunate", that's a pretty level headed

    to me

I've been noticing how much work AM2 continues to pump into items & costumes. VF5 is almost 5 years old, when it came out the faces & character models looked amazing, but now they look pretty dated to me. Why don't they update the models along with the game?

Lindbergh is very old hardware now. You're not going to see anything special from it now unfortunately. Unless they lower the frame rate.. but we don't want that!

nah, the lindbergh was originally going to be a 360 (or so the rumor went), but then they opted to use off the shelf pc hardware instead.

lindbergh is like a midrange pc from 2004, ringedge is like a midrange pc from 2008. neither is very impressive spec wise, but what is impressive is what sega pumps out of them both.

if you ask me, vf5 looks better than t6...
