I wonder how much of that has to do with the $30 PSN bundle and the PSN+ offer. Or perhaps it's because playstation people didn't have vf5 online so it got extra hyped/people were keen for a new experience. Regardless, it is a huge gap.

I also tend to think it's because the ppl who would have awareness about Virtua Fighter, are also loyalists to Sony Playstation. VF4evo was on the PS2.

At the very least, they're more loyal to the Jpnese consoles, which traditionally had all the "serious" fighting games. X-box is more like DoA's home.

I think it probably sold very well in Japan, where PS3 is more popular than xbox.

Maybe people in Japan are using the home version to train for the arcades and are not bothered about online play? (maybe not, cause broadband speed is quite high in Japan).

I disagree with Mlai about 'serious' console. Xbox has a nice selection of fighting games and even better selection of shooters on xbla...all the treasure games for example.

it might be perceived otherwise, but in reality it has a lot of 'serious' games (read: Japanese fighters/shooters)

While I may agree with this, I only wish at times it could be backed up with the player base. The amount of times I tried looking for an online fight and yet had moments where it could be dry for hours astonished me! shooters and anything else seems fine!

Not sure if same could be said bout the PS3 as I haven't owned one for over a year, but last time I played a fighter online on the ps3 I didn't really have any problems of finding a fight online in comparison to what I've experienced with the 360.

I'm not hating on the 360 as it's served me well for all these years, just making a statement from an observational point of view!
