Virtua Fighter Hall of Fame?

GhettoSHUN is definitely one of the greats. He didn't really play VF4 much though, and totally avoided VF5.

VF3TB (on Dreamcast)? Yeah, GhettoSHUN was hot. My main rival. We played against each other so much, and it went back and forth constantly between his Shun and my Akira, so I can't say who prevailed between us in the end.

I had abandoned Akira and picked up Jeffry towards the end of VF3tb, and would have liked to see how his Shun would have fared. I felt my Jeffry was even stronger than my Akira, but he stopped playing, so I guess we'll never know.

Talk about hardcore in-bred play! It would be just me and him, sparring for 8 hours straight - well after the other players (CrewNYC, Hiro, SuddenDeath) either left or went to sleep! Back & forth, back & forth, till the sun came up...

Ahhh...the memories!

 

YEah I have to agree with Cozby. Don't include XBL players in this thread. It's not the same since most people haven't played these players or really seen how these players play in different player match ups etc. or how they have grown over time. Also this isn't the who is the top "x" player on XBL.

Oh and I can't be on the list cause I am Canadian.

Those are some high level players right there. This thread is pointless because even if a person like Shag is not announce to be HOF material people can still get in based on contributions to the scene with growth and evelopment. Shag would be in the Hall of fall for his off-field duties.

BTW some of the people on that list with all due respect should'nt be there and they would tell you them selves.

Oh yeah i would say me but i honestly haven't done enough and i know it. My poor showing at NYG7 was enough to sit me back on balloting for a few years lol!!!! After WCG though i am way more dangerous offline LMAO!!! (No thinking baby, Just feel.)

Seriously speaking None of are worth of that statue until we go to Japan and regulate shop for a months. Those guys are still are the litmus test for how good you think you are.

none other i would nominate for shun. idk the other guy. anyways i spent an hour yesterday creating a thread for the HOF rules and regulations but then got signed out and it couldn't post. i sent a message to myke so maybe he could delegate it to someone else to start it... i'll post the message on here and maybe you guys can message him with your own ideas...

So MasterPo had a wonderful idea of starting up a hall of fame where winners were judged by the VFDC community. Anyways I saw this as a chance for us to keep ourselves distracted while we waited for news (or lack thereof) vf5r. I started a thread on XBOX LIVE that i had spent about an hour creating the rules and categories for nominations and right after i had finished proofreading and editing, i hit to submit the post and i was signed out

Anyways, since I don't want to do it again I thought I could message you and perhaps you could delegate it to someone else to organize this. It would pretty much be a competition for popularity that would run throughtout the whole month of august. It would get players back on xbox live and maybe show sega/microsoft higher number of people playing VF5 over anything other fighter?... Anyways just an idea.

These are rules i came up with but if you can think of more to better help the event then it helps

1.Submitting Nominations: Should be a numbered list that contains the players Gamertag and character. For example "1.Player-Jacky"

2. Players can nominate themselves: I put this rule so anyone can nominate themselves. I had further added that if they were going to nominate themselves they should add themselves at the end of the list in bold. that way we know they are nominating themselves.

3.Once they post they cant post again: I added this rule to better keep track of nominations and not have cluttered garbage on the thread. I added that if they wanted to add/delete players from their list they should EDIT.

4. They can nominate players more than once- I had this rule because there are players who are good with different characters and format should be "PLAYER- Jacky; Lei-Fei; Ninja Turtle Award (NTA is a superlative award i had added to Categories for nominations but thats something else.

5.They can nominate players from around the world- since it is vf online hall of fame, there has been times when players have played other players from across the oceans. I added this rule so that anyone can have a chance at nomination

those are the immediate rules i remember. if u can come up with anymore then cool.

Categories- I added categories so that besides best players we could have superlative awards so that anyone could win at something

Best characters- this is the main category where the players who got the most nominations could win

Superlatives:

"Spectacularly"- a category where a player could be nominated for having the flashiest/coolest/awesome combo/series.

"Ninja Turtle Award"- awarded to the player who turtles the most.

"Just to make sure"- player who still attacks after the round is over

"Best dressed"- this would be another list comprising of best dressed characters online

"GET OUT!!!"- player who loves to use ring outs most

"It's not over yet"- player who loses consistently but still comes back for more...

there were others but can't immediately recall them. Anyways it would be a great idea to have this event throughout august, that way we have more people playing online trying to get inducted. So thanks for your attention bro. hpefully this works.

 

this could work. it would be that everyone makes a list of the players they want to nominate... at the end of the thread when its over, the player with the most nominations would be inducted into the hall of fame. simple.

so even if i nominate someone you wouldn't doesn't necessarily mean they would win, it is decided on the community as a whole by who gets the most votes.

I didn't put my self on the list I'm no where near anything like a Hall of fame player. But I do recognize greatness when I see it. Is there a problem with suggesting that this community recognize the great players of VF

Yo, some people can't travel to play VF, that's just a fact.
They play and improve in a local scene. Of course they don't know how good they are until they play in a national or international scene, but don't knock them because they haven't played U or somebody that U personally know

This is an idea that would in the long run help the VF community, I don't understand really why anybody would be against it, unless they are just h8tn
