I don't have time to look right now but This exact issue was Already talked about in an older WCG thread. The rules you're looking at don't say you can't use dural either. Look around on their site it's there somewhere. I found it back when I was confused but the thread is the best thing to look at to clear your confusion up cuz you were not alone.

Look at the Offical WCG thread that's linked from the main VFDC page, shift through the last through pages this was talked to death there.

But really would it make any sense to have it be 1 match? No fighting game tournament I've herd of works like that, at least it would be best out of 3, but it is defiantly best out of 5 matches, just look for the right rules (which are difficult to shift through.)

KowtowRobinson I trust you understand the 3/5 matches rule seeing how you posted in the old thread agreeing with me on that.

I have searched for quite some time now. The previous rule set was in fact vague and it nobody was sure what 3 of 5 meant. However it no longer says that. Its very explicit. One single elimination versus game. I mean if you have the link somewhere that says otherwise cool. But nobody has provided that. Even on the other post, its all personal interpretation on what the rules mean, then and now.

adamYUKI is not playing. He pre-registered but WCG did not remove him or Flash from the brackets.

I was hoping to fight CIDKID; I don't think he fought tenren but the latter somehow advanced. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I've been trying to contact tenren all day but he hasn't responded.

Jap tournies work like that a lot. I think it's a fucked up format, but whatever. It comes from a country that puts out banana Kit Kats and tentacle rape. Whatever.

And yes the best of 5 matches was fairly obvious, to me anyway.

Its more realistic. In regard to actual fighting tournaments.

In real fighting tournaments you actually take physical damage and get physically tired. I wouldn't draw that close of a parallel between VF and real fighting.
