They were playing Score Attack (Route A), the arcade mode variation where the option settings do not apply (But I think it's safe to assume that it's locked on Normal).

This looked more like a low level VF1 tournament...no tech rollings, tons of knockdowns and heavy down attacks. Not that I was expecting like difficult Koenraku combos or anything fancy though.

The announcer though......STRONG STRONG STRONG STRONG STRONG...

I would have done this announcing for free (I announced SC/WCIII tournaments in the past for the community) as I have a bachelor's degree in sports broadcasting and I certainly love video games.

But hey, Virtua Fighter gets some good exposure for the brand, so no complaints overall.

I hope Sega was paying attention.

Maybe things heat up a bit once they get to the shooters, but.,

Truth-be-told, mastery of fighting games require the most skill
of any kind of video game. So if we're talking the Ultimate Gamer Challenge, then fighting games should be saved for the
grand finale /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

But the way thingz are going, we might looking at some kind
of Little Big Planet or WII fit show down /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I thought the show was going to be more like

Ninja Warriors meets the arcade /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

 

Looking forward for WCG to post the next (VF) episode video on their site. This made me play through the arcade once to have a feel, and true enough, on normal difficulty Pai is the first CPU opponent that does something else than eat everything the player does... lol.

ps. Playing through the arcade made me unlock Dural finally, so Im happy about this little episode.

pps. They should have done something like fist of the north star! hehe

I dunno about you guys but I think that would be torture

 

I dunno about you but Im not sure that having random dudes play rock band is much better.

Personally I can't stand watching people making fool out of themselves. (Which is why I dont really watch TV these days)

In my opinion there should be more background conversation about the game itself, what do you need to do in order to be good in it, what the players should do and what they manage to do and so on. Preferably with pro players playing. Viewers would notice quickly th difference between pure individual skill games with no strategy like rock band and project gotham racing, and deep games like VF, RTS games etc.
