Weekly League @ Game Focus STARTS NOW!

The one thing that referees should have remembered to implement is the 10 win streak cap. Its no wonder Ryan had a 66 win streak, when really he should be getting 10 win streaks at a time. From the looks of things, Ryan could end up winning this league simply because the referees didn't remember the rule. I will remind referees to implement this rule.

I'm processing all the result from last month to present day. I'm already half way thru. just need more time to process them.

The owner of Game Focus wants to open downstairs as a shop. It looks highly unlikely that the league will continue after this week. i'll try my best to carry the league a week b4 absolution starts.....

So ppl, pop down to make your final mark on the league. Come early, so you can get early wins. I will open the league from 12 noon if need be..

Yeah bummer /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif, an alternate venue down the west end would be good but not BK man it just don't feel right (I'll see if I can think of any other location suggestions), slipping on fries while pulling off dragon lance /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

 

This is dissapointing news but at least I have one final chance to come down and try and leave a better impression than last week.

This saturday should be a big turn out since its the last one.

Man where am i going to spend my saturdays now,
Gamefoucs has been quite homly for the past 8 or so weeks /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Guess we're going to end up staying at home for challenges, or at the Play 2 Win arcade nearby.

This used to be held at BK in Picadilly Circus last year under the name Dynamic League. It's a much better venue held in the downstairs area, all of it to ourselves. There was plenty of room lots of places to sit and discount food.

When your waiting your turn you can watch and sit down.

 

I hope to continue the league til 20th Sept. A week before Absolution. I will probably make 20th the last date. But be aware that there might not be enough room since the cash till counter will be downstairs. And no sitting on the counter. Its made of glass. You don't want broken glass up ur ass. We'll take a pic of you, post it on the net and shame you up to the world for not listening...

I will announce winners of each game as soon as I process the results. They will get a £50 Game Focus Voucher to spend in store. Save it for Xmas cause u might need it for presents!

Future events will be run by Dynamic League. I probably wont be there since I'll be working at Game Focus. I hope to put forward the developments and new league stucture towards Derrick, who will hopefully modify the exisiting Dynamic League system to something that shows pure stats. The venue, once downstairs is redone, will be too small to run a league tournament. But saying that, I'm trying to find a decent arcade cabinet around £300 for new arcade games. Hopefully SNK vs Capcom Chaos...

I would ask Ryan for his arcade machine, but he'll probably ask £6000 for it...

 

well steve you didnt tell me of this 10wim rule when i got there, i was kicking peeps off after 15 or so wins though but when i saw that patrick/samuri was letting ryan get 66 wins i thought it was okay 4 peeps to get big win streaks, anyways he could of never gotten 66 wins at my ps2, we'd of taken him out 4 sure, glad i didnt play on that side, seams like push overs

Well I managed to convert some replays to AVI but there about 100-150 megs each I need to find a way to compress them, to MPEG maybe? Any suggestions, I'll bring them on disc on sat so anyone who knows what there doing can maybe upload them /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You basically just have to reencode them in a more suitable format. DivX or wmv is nice for small file sizes.

 

yah, compressing them with divX or even the nasty X-vid codec will do nicely to cut them sizes in half almost. Also, u need to tweak around with the settings like sound etc. Every lil counts. Like, make the vids MONO rather than Stereo, etc.

If u want, I can give u a link to a program that does the divX compression bit, it ain't too bad.

eesh!, compressing with movie maker gets 120MB down leik 15 no prob /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

if only i had something on my comp, infact i think arch has found a way to get more clips into my hard drive, so i may get some more me vs arch matches up, and any thing else.

 

for Opti: Find a program thread about VideoDUB on the VFDC forums. Creed I think made the thread. It should have the link and stuff u need to make a file smaller.

This Saturday 13th September 2003 is the last league tournament at Game Focus. As the league has brought many gamers, both pro and beginner, together, its a shame that we are to end this event.

Please come down and battle some top quality players in this grand finale. Be sure to pop in early to get some early wins and a chance to top the league tables. I'll try my best to complete the current league table for this Saturday.

I'll try and keep two VF4 machines and 2 SC2 machines in play. Space is very tight as work on opening the basement as an extension to the store has already begun. I can not promise extra machines due to space.

We'll be taking loads of pictures and placing them on the website. Be sure to look good for the camera.

Remember that the player in 1st position at the end of the league will win themselves a £50 Game Focus voucher to spend in store. We have a vast selection of import games and accessories as well as novelty toys and films.
