On a similar note of ring outs since it definitely creates its own side game, how about time outs? Ever since they changed it from 30 seconds to 45 seconds time outs never happen, well, maybe 1% of the time.

If there's two things VF has enough of, then it's grapplers and Kung Fu.

Can't think of anything really missing, I think originality will come from new gameplay aspects and not modelled fighting styles.

Maybe a true heavyweight boxer? Even though they've basically made Brad have the boxer characteristics, they could put a different spin on it then other 3D fighters have done.

With Virtua Fighter final showdown taking its sweet time. VF6 keep everything like it was. Don't add a story mode. I do not want this to turn in to another Tekken franchise . Virtua Fighter is only about fighting. That is it. Nothing else should matter. No story mode please Sega. To Hell, with it I want to be myself and see how my created character fairs up against Dural.

    1. Game speed -- This game is certainly fast enough. Want faster, go play MvC3 coming out. I hate twitch fighting games, which is why I moved away from 2D fighters.

    2. Stances -- Definitely fine the way it is. Though I wish that everyone has a standardized stance/side switch. All IRL fighters do that.

    3. 45 seconds is great. Why would you want LESS ring time??? Like it's fun to lose by time out? I guess you have a console mentality not arcade (get-my-quarter's-worth) mentality. But if you're on console, just change the time in options.

I can definitely make timeouts happen with 45 seconds.. I usually use 60 in my own matches as default.

The following changes/additions I would like to see:
    -Multi-tiered arenas like in VF3
-Glowing orb items for any limbs including necks (chokers), even used as scrunchies if character is wearing their hair in a ponytail.
-Depending on a certain attack being inflicted upon, a character's hair (depending on the style) or like in VF3 item comes off/loose.
-Since VF5 had characters getting soaked, how about they also get mud/dirt being shown on their outfits.
-Maybe show sweating in stages located in hot temperature areas.
-Include old stages such as Sarah's Subway stage from VF3, the Palace stage from VF4, and include Pai's Aquarium stage from VF4(Original).

The rate Sega is going. By the Virtua Fighter 6 will probably come in 2013-2015. That is too long. Plus with no storyline and just fighting. Hell, by the time Virtua Fighter 6 comes I will have my own fighting game series.

That's the one i was referring to, Pai's stage in the original version of VF4. Plus i like the music better in VF4 than in VF4: EVO

I do miss how the walls in some stages in VF4/4Evo would crumble after some hard hits, and you could see the damage which would show you how close a wall was to getting broken...

I am glad that there is still detail in the stages, and how tiles on the floor get broken in Lau's stage, and the glass wall gets cracked a bit in Brad's stage.

I hope Taka's stage in VF5R gets carried over in VF6 though (I'm loving the well-lit Dohyo with a massive crowd watching)...

If I said I wish the parries are active longer so that they're easier to use, am I gonna get lynched?

I don't need DOA-length parries, but right now it's like to parry you need to know exactly when the enemy's attack is coming out. How do you time that except against scrubs??

Parries like Guken's (in SSF4) are perfect imo. If I can anticipate an opponent's attack level, it's pretty easy to time without being split-second exact.

As you play more you will get a better feel for it. One of the ideas behind the parries you are referencing is that they are intended to be used limitedly. For example akira's 'parries' (counters). I believe the makers of the game want you to use akira as a rushdown character. Strengthening his counters would change the way people played him to a passive fighter.

Conversely, jacky catches punches in neutral stance. There is no lengthening that. It just happens. It seems OP at first glance, but really it's dangerous cause it opens you up to throws and kicks etc.

But you'll find as you play more, and understand the best options in given situations, the counters become more effective.

Use them when at disadvantage. If you got hit, you're likely at disadvantage. If your attack was just blocked, you're also likely at disadvantage. So - during these scenarios, just input the command if you think an attack is coming. It's probably going to be a mid attack. Do a mid reversal. The timing is not an issue when you see how the VF system works.

If you're just standing there thinking "OK! Gonna reverse the next attack" (which I used to do) then you just have to do it on reaction to your opponent moving. They aren't meant to be used that way.

They are a great way to screw with people. I was playing VF with Yosuke and asked him to translate what Akira was saying. It's usually "Careless!" - as in: "You are being careless."

    Re: Virtua Fighter6 Character wishes

All of what's been said + If the window was any longer on parries/reversals then they'd not be worth using at all. They are already punishable enough in VF5 and they don't offer much reward for the trouble.
