What happens to girls on message boards?

Nah, most of my friends don't mind losing, because I'm only good at a select few games. MIRA, Garou, TvC, VF and recently, gotten much better at SamSho 5, due to playing on stick. Still not crazy good, but at Texas Showdown, I was told by many people, 'Wow, you're the only challenge I've had all day'. I think my longest win streak was 17.

But, for the most part, you're right. But I guess I would rather have them looking down on me a little than grovelling at my feet. Makes winning a little more satisfying. What really sucks is when they won't shake my hand and say 'Good game'. One guy did that to me in Garou casuals... because the matches were going up on the internet. And once they did go up, he proceeded to bash me all over the video's page.

Currently, I'm trying to learn Melty Blood and Arcana Heart 2. Too bad AH2's PS2 port is so crappy... too much slowdown... makes it hard to learn combos or get the hang of things. Doesn't help that my bf was a top player, so I have to mash AAABC qcf+assist.

My thoughts exactly. I wish girls who played games just stfu about their sex, they have to repeat "I'm a girl who plays games" all the goddamn time >=/ Most of them suck at gaming anyways and that's all I care about, unless they want to expose their tits, but that's another story.

EDIT: Not necessarily directed at anyone in particular. I do know many girls (WHO PLAY GAMEZ OMG) who do that, so I've been particularly annoyed at girl gamers for a while (I only know one whom I actually respect as a gamer, because she actually beats my ass up and down). Guys who cry at girls beating them in the game are a disgrace btw. Just treat them like you would treat anyone else who is better than you in a game Having a natural stick doesn't make you better at using the arcade ones...

There's two sisters that work at the Gamestop in the Galleria Mall near me... They're pretty hardcore gamers too... The older was telling me she played Fallout for over 100 hours. 100 hours on a game is a lot for a girl... IMO (of course!)

I also heard there's a SF player in Socal and his girlfriend is also a tournament level SF player that bounces dudes from tournaments (she doesn't win the whole thing though. But still...

 

Not really, there's a difference between being a mouthful "GIRL GAMER" who doesn't play for shit and just sucks all around and being a girl who actually does play games and develops some sort of skill like any other gamer. I'm talking about both types in different paragraphs hehe. And I respect the later, but hate on the first. Show me your skills (or your tits), I'm not into "drooling"

 

The only thing that annoys me about girl fighting gamers is when they try to use their femininity to get things- such as whining about throws, or "cornering". Guys do this too, but girls who whine like this really throw a fit. I know one that went into a hissy fit if you taunted, but that's not as bad.

A girl who takes it like a man is fine by me. ^_^ The first girl FG I knew earned mad props from me for who she used in games- grapplers and the 94 Ladies team. ^_^ She quit FGs after KOF started to suck, and now mostly playing FFXI.

Thanks, Tony. I try to keep cool... I find most of this just to be very funny (especially that comic).

I try not to whine about things (I'll admit that I do it occasionally, when I'm learning a new game), but if someone keeps doing the same shit over and over, I do get upset. I get over it, and I'm always a good sport at tournaments. I'll also admit that I usually don't make it past the first two rounds, but then again, neither do half the people that enter the tournament. I think the fact that the TvC guys sent people to find me for my loser's match (and didn't even mention loser's to my bf, who was also entered in TvC and standing right next to me), is a good sign.

Depending on the character, I can get annoyed at taunts. If it's a funny taunt, I'll laugh, but if it's really annoying and stupid... like Xiaoyu or Xianghua... I get mad. I'm not one of those 'honor code' fags, but I think taunting during a serious match is a little insulting.

Kinda sick of hearing about SFIV and SoCal... or SFIV in general. I stopped playing that game a month ago. It's just weird, and I don't like how unbalanced it is.

I agree that some girl gamers scream about their gender a little too much. I honestly try not to do it; I don't want to be good at games 'for a girl', just good in general. I haven't seen many girls at tournaments... just Lobelia and her gf and this one female Kazuya player. Oh, and a GG player named Mischa. None of them were screaming "I'M A GIRL GAMER OMG", which was great.

Someone told me about some Women's League for DOA4 or something silly like that... I got really annoyed. I was like, 'Well, couldn't they just enter the normal tournaments like everyone else? Being female doesn't put you on an uneven playing field for video games, not like sports do.'

But, eh. I can understand where all of the "OMFG A GIRL" and all of the "girl gamers can be teh sux" is coming from. It's cool, srsly.

Garou tournament was whack. I got a bye-in for loser's, and lost my next match, and ended up in 9th. I was happy. THEN my bf gets a call saying that the guy I got a bye from came back and we have to do the match AND redo the match I lost after that. I was not pleased. I ended up winning the match I originally had a bye in, but losing the second match again, ending up in the same place I had been. The match I won wasn't recorded... but that's okay. It wasn't an exciting match.
