    Re: LOL

    Haven't posted in (a)eons. Here's my bit.

Akira: Takenouchi Yutaka. He's got Akira's chiselled face and he sort of resembles Akira VF3.

Pai: Zhang Ziyi would be a good bet since she's already so... well... popular. ut really, any Hong Kong artiste would do, since they speak both Cantonese and English well. Oh... and they would just have to play themselves... Pai is an actress no? I personally think Kelly Chen is best (looks like VF2 Pai), but Anita Yuen isn't that bad either (somewhat like VF3 Pai).

Lau: I agree with Tagawa. After all, if Pat Morita can play a Chinese, so can Tagawa. Oh by the way, Pat Morita is my choice for Shun [see Shun]

Wolf: Vin Diesel? I don't have anyone else that strikes me at the moment. The Rock (in my opinion just doesn't cut it).

Jeffry: Mr T! Mr T! Or maybe Eddie Murphy in a small fat suit. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif No idea for him, really.

Kage: Anyone really. He'll propbably be masked half the time anywayz.

Sarah Bryant: I was thinking Kylie Minogue, but the divine Miss M is a tad... vintage. What about Jennifer Aniston? Ah... Winona Ryder!!! She's originally blonde (see Edward Scissorhands). But she's a tad short... and she'll probably be unable to stop filching her castmates' stuff... what about Sarah Michelle Gellar. A bit off Sarah's image, but she's got that kickass image (she'll be remembered as Buffy for the rest of her life). Shakira sounds good though.

Jacky Bryant: Hey, if Jennifer Aniston gets the part then Brad Pitt can be Jacky! OK, maybe that wasn't such a good choice... but he has the looks, brawn and charisma...

Shun Di: Pat Morita! Remember the 3 Ninjas? He was their grandfather.

Lion Rafale: Leonardo DiCaprio!? Never! Anyone else but him!

Aoi Umenokouji: I wanted to go with Esumi Makiko but she'd tower over everyone else. But Utada Hikaru is fine. Really. Anyone except Ayumi Hamasaki.

Taka: Any English-speaking Japanese sumo wrestler would do.

Lei-Fei: Gordon Liu is great but he's old. Jet Li looks too much like a boy to be Lei-Fei. Ekin Cheng may be able to pull it off. He's got a squarish face.

Vanessa: Halle Berry. She looked good as Storm, she will kick ass as Vanessa.

    Goh and Brad: No comments.

The akira casting choice was a nice find. Does he do martial arts?
(not that it matters I guess, akira does bullshit-fu /versus/images/icons/wink.gif )

Pat Morita? No KARATE KID connections, for god's sake. Besides that, give Shun somebody who can really kick ass, and who isn't 105 years old. I'm telling you, Gordon Liu should play Shun. Everyone has his Shaolin monk role on the brain...Liu needs to play Shun and give that character the elegance and grace he deserves. I don't want Shun to be comedy relief; in Chinese martial arts movies, the Drunken styles are considered some of the most deadly...it's not LOL.

My opinion, you use VF to showcase some of the great martial artists of the past, since there are so many mature cats in VF. Hwang Jang Lee, Gordon Liu, Kurata, hell even Sonny Chiba if you find a role for him. Perhaps Chiba could be the main Big Boss character, with Dural merely the Frankenstein she is, while Chiba plays the real Fu Manchu-type...Chiba is the J6 leader/supervillain the tournament survivors have to throw down against, as a climax. Probably it would be Lau and Kage, the survivors, against the Chiba. IMHO, Lau and Kage outlast everyone in the movie tournament, because they're just the cutthroats who will do anything to win...Kage would probably end up as the more sympathetic anti-hero, with his Dural momma, while Lau is just a villain who tries to do the right thing, like Darth Vader, before he dies.

    Pat Morita????
Dude, have u seen him recently???
I saw him on Baywatch a couple months ago and damn, he was really really aged. like bedridden kinda old. SHun is old, but not feeble in any sense. Morita just looks really frail and I doubt he has any of Shun's charisma.

Looks wise, Brigette Wilson is the best candidate i guess for Sarah. And people please, just coz a girl is blonde doesnt make her a good sarah.

Who suggested Shakira as Sarah??? Ok, I love Shakira, but she is like 5ft tall and cant do any martial arts.

ANd even Brigette Wilson will make a crappy Sarah, if u can recall her shining performance as SOnya in the MK movie. I guess Sarah and Jacky are the hardest ones to cast so far...

Vin diesel as wolf?.... hmmm.... well he's pretty buff, and he could look pretty feirce ala wolf, but i'm not sure, maybe i'd consider it after i see wolf's face paints on him.

sarah michelle gellar = no way, VF's Sarah is too badass to be played by a girly-girly girl. as long as were talking hollywood actresses on who's to play Sarah bryant, maybe angelina jolie will fit tha part (make her blonde, or was she a blonde in the first place?) maybe she could pull it off, like lare croft.

Mr.T as jeffrey doesn't sound quite as bad, just need to take out his "i pity the fool" lines and he might do well. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

    Re: LOL

I liked angelina jolie as sarah actually.. a lot. That's the best suggestion so far. Re: shun, I still think jacky chan in makeup would be best. There's no question jacky chan can do the moves right, and as for the earlier complaints about "shun isn't about comic relief" . ... uhm, why does he smack his ass and make comical noises then? Jacky wouldn't be a stretch for shun at all considering some of shun's VF2 original moves appear to be ripped directly from drunken master 2.

    Re: LOL

well drunken boxing is powerful, but at a different view it is comical, and since its true that most of shun's move originated from jacky chan, i think it is a good idea plus jacky isn't that young any more so make up won't be so hard.

Okay, I have no clue about these people's skills, so I'm going off of looks & physique.

Lei Fei - Lightning from Big Trouble in Little China w/ a haircut.
Shun - Egg Shen from the same movie (didn't do any fighting though)
Pai - I think I was the first to mention Zhang Zhiyi, but the damn image link died... doh! She's definitely Pai.
Aoi - they really should use someone NOT so glamorous, but quite lady-like. They really went for a different kind of image with her than in most video games. kudos to AM2.

    Re: LOL

Lightning was very cool. And speaking of BIG TROUBLE, Carter
Wong (Thunder) might make a pretty good Akira. Again, these guys
have aged a lot in the intervening years.

Shun makes funny noises when he fights because he's an OLD GODDAMN MAN.
His ass-kiss winning pose is, well, what you'd expect from an old monk who drinks
all the time (during fights). Anyway, there's a secret to Drunken Boxing about seeming
disarming (seeming drunk, buffoonish) in order to lure the opp into false security, ect. And
as far as Jackie Chan goes, you end up making VF into a Chan movie, and either Shun
takes a bigger role or Chan takes a cameo type role (like Donnie Yen in BLADE 2, basically
a walk-on) and short-changing a great character like Shun in the movie. I mean, if VF as
a movie has any reality, most of these characters are going to DIE. There's no way
around it, unless you set up a science fictional device that monitors the fighters and stops
the fight just before certain death...still, only the real hard-asses are going to make it
all the way through: Kage and Lau, maybe Vanessa and now Goh (ugh)...you might
find a way to create a star in a new non-faggy Lion, that whole good-looking kid over-coming
impossible odds sort of movie, but reality dictates that most of the characters die.

He's got the perfect face for Lei Fei but Jet Li's still the best choice...he's done Lei Fei roles all along...

Vanessa can be Venus Williams, though that would be a case of the char not being as butch as the actor /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
