What made you like VF, and not another fighting game?

I enjoy Virtua Fighter because of the engine and the character balance. The engine is the deepest around, and the characters are easily the most balanced when compared to other fighting games. You never have to worry about someone picking the "cheap" characters. Whether you win or lose a match is all on you, not the game or the characters.

I like it 'cause I get a hard on from getting my ass kicked.

....Seriously though, balance, graphics, non-flashiness (I use Goh... very non-flashy) and the logical way I can piece the moves together (in most cases anyway). I try to figure stuff out intuitively... which isn't necessarily the best way to play, but it helps me learn strats faster.

I like a ton of other fighting games and not just VF. In fact when I first saw it I hated it (no fireballs and uppercuts) and I didn't play it no mind. Then one day a guy I know was playing it and I was surprised he liked the game. I asked him what does he see in the game and then he starts showing me all this stuff with Kage and I realized the game has some substance. However I still left it alone. I started playing VF1 because my brother bought it for the 32X and I nothing else to play at home so figured what the hell and started to play Jacky. I also kinda thought I should learn how to play a 3d fighter because they might become big in the future. The game eventually grows me and I get decent at it but I'm still no fanatic. Months later I see VF2 in an arcade, play it, CPU Pai kicks my ass, I say "It's kinda cool.", and then procede to spend the rest of my money on Marvel Super Heroes. Months after that I'm bored one day and I decide to rent a Saturn. VF2 is there so I say, "What the hell." and rent it too. Finally after playing at home the magic happened and realized VF is the shit and two weeks later I had my own Saturn and VF2.

Anyway back to the original point, I'm an arcade player first so I try to play whatever's hot in the arcades at the time. Unfortunately VF ain't hot where I live so have to enjoy it at the crib. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

There's always an answer! No matter what kind of CRAP your opponent does you can avoid or get out of it. So I would say the Brains and not the beauty. I started with fighters mega mix on the saturn. I was blown away by the different moves and how they could be used. And look at where the series is now! Every edition is better than the last. Yu Suzuki and AM2 , I thank you! /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I like VF more than other fighting games because its depth and realism. While other fighters have you mashing buttons to spill pints of blood by using your energy sword from a different galaxy, VF has you doing the tiger stance to counter your opponents rush.

I chose VF b/c of all the people in my neighborhood who play. I mean everybody, even the blind 89 year old granny next door. Then, I learned that they are all VF.net ranked Champions with all characters and have never lost to Chibita or Ohsu. I stuck with VF b/c even with all of their skill I could stomp them with PPPK combos. Never lost a round. Ruined their percentages. Made fools of them.

    Oh, wait. Maybe not.
