I never said they were metal, just that they are a decent band.

There's lots of different types of metal you know, you don't just say a band is metal or not. Disturbed is NOT pop, I would classify them under heavy metal. Cannibal Corpse is Death Metal, not just any ordinary metal. As Feck said, there's nothing wrong with listening to Disturbed, I don't see what the point of attacking someones taste of music is in the first place.

All the different genres of music is confusing, metal/death metal it's practically the same. Metal music is even capable of riding high in the charts but it doesn't make it pop music.

I say don't pay attention to genre and just enjoy whatever you're listening too.

Everything but classical music is pop. There, I said it.

lol, I can tell a mile away between most metal and death metal if I was listening to music, don't say they are practically the same because it's confusing to you. I agree with you that some of the metal distinction is confusing like speed metal/thrash metal and stuff like that but lot's of them aren't.

Why shouldn't people pay attention to genre, If I listen to Metallica and I want to listen to music similar to that genre I wouldn't go and get an eminem CD, I'd go and get more music of the same genre.

No I meant it's confusing that it matters, not that the difference is confusing.

I listen to the soundtracks of Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 and 3 when I play racing games such as Forza 3. Other stuff like melodic trance works nicely with that game as well.

I'm just curious, am I the only one whom enjoys video game music so much that I have mp3 files of them for my Ipod and on xbox, video game music as we all know I'm sure is all different kinds of music.

On a side note, I'm really curious, how come 8-bit and 16-bit music sounds different than present day VG music/radio music? Was it the power of the systems at the time? If u guys can answer or at least give an educated guess, I'd appreciate it, thank u.

I can only listen to my own music when playing racing games.

I've not played my own music when playing VF much. I feel as though I need to hear the game sound effects to help me play better. (Block/hit sound effects just makes it that much more easier for me)

I know if I ever try playing 3s with music on I get fucked up and have to turn it off if I'm gonna play properly.

    Disturbed #1
    In Flames
    Sevendust
    Alice in Chains
    Godsmack
    Throwdown
    Mudvayne
    Eminem
    Static-X
    Jay-Z
    Johnny Cash
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Rammstein
    Vandal

But yeah, Disturbed above all, their music tells my life story so perfectly, that's why I have fucking Indestructible tattooed on my back! Disturbed will always be the band i go to when i need some kick ass in my life, that energy no other band can give me, all my ring entrance music had been Disturbed, to me Disturbed is the greatest band to put out music.

Disturbed is labeled under "Nu-metal" in Rock band 2 [IMG]

And as for my own cannibal corpse comment, it was my way of pointing out that 'one-upping' is silly.

Pop can mean many things such as mainstream or commercial, it is short for popular after all.
