What will you be playing until the next VF?

Hmm what will you be eating? When will you be shitting? When will you be Fucking until the new vf?!!!

 

Didn't we have several threads at one point that covered all these questions?

 

The only problem I have with VF (or any fighting game AI) is the "lack of fear" that an AI has. Real players fall into patterns, get nervous or intimidated. No less importantly, they can also be trained/conditioned to fall for certain setups/mix-ups over time (whether it's in one match or a set of 20)...

As long as an AI can't replicate those types of player behaviors, it's tough to really learn against the AI.

The AI doesn't get desperate when its health is low or smell blood and go for the kill when your health is low. I know NOTHING about fighting game AI design theory or anything, I'm just pointing out the aspects of human vs human play I don't see AIs replicate too well.

 

If that was the case, I would play something else entirely, like a good FPS game - be like a cross-sport athlete.

I mean... MK? MK = Special Olympics of FG's.

I'm not even going to sell you on the idea that Tekken's of the past were close to VF. They weren't. If they got two things right (TTT had technique and fun), they got one thing terribly wrong (TTT and character balance? Er... no.)

Namco's Achilles' heel has always been balance, which they've pretty much sorted for the most part in BR (pretty much is the word - I don't think it's possible to create a PERFECT balanced FG, because even VF isn't.), which is why I'm happy to put time into it since Sega has practically dropped VF as we know it for the near future.

Don't be surprised if VF5 is the last VF you'll see for a LONG time. Remember when true Sonic games just disappeared? Or Outrun? Where's Daytona now? Shenmue? How long until Altered Beast and Golden Axe were given some development cash?

Look at that company's history, and you'll see Sega's pattern. They are TERRIBLE at managing their IP's. VF is no different, and that's why I'm not going to hold my pee in until Sega gets it together. Judging by their past, that's going to be a LONG TIME from now, and the only games I play are FG's. Since BR = VF5, but has comp, online, tons of extra stuff to muck around with when you want to take a break, and will be back for the 7th iteration, I don't see a reason to miss out on a great game and sacrifice my free time for a company that doesn't give a shit about their fans, or their IP's.

Anyone have a good co-op vs bots FPS for the PS3 to recommend? As a reference point Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was my favourite FPS because we could split screen and shoot at retarded targets. Frankly my friends and I can't aim worth shit so playing against other people isn't an option.

I hear Resistance 2 might be good for that?

 

Resistance: Fall of Man if you want to play offline co-op. The campaign is very fun to play =)
Resistance 2 if you want to play offline + online, since it can go up to 8 players (2 offline + 6 online). The co-op campaign is very different from the main one and you create your own char, it's fun. If you pick it up, add me! My char is very noobish but I've been wanting to form a group with other non-FPS gamers with shitty aim like me

I'd mainly reccomend gears 2 tbh, you can do all of the multiplayer modes againsts bots and horde mode is great fun with friends offline.

L4D is great aswell, you dont need good aim for the majority of it

i'll be playing vf5 Online,and WoW. I'm hoping a new sports game will hook me. Thinking of trying out the next Woods game. I tried to get into the last madden and failed, so i'll probably skip it. I was gonna pass the ufc game and go fight night, but honestly i thought the FN4 demo sucked. I'm hoping the next Winning Eleven is back up to its standard and then i'm there for while.

 

Problem is my 360 is past it's extended warranty so I don't like using it and 2 of the 3 other bozos in the gang don't have one.

Man we used to play PD on slow mo with pistols and shotguns. God bless you weed.
