Wait, so does that mean you aren't being serious now? But if you're not being serious now, it means you are being serious because it makes the emote icon meaningless. But if the emote icon doesn't matter, it means you're not being serious... which means you are, which means you're not, which means you are, which means you're not, which means...

*BOOM*

GAME OVER

For me, Trying to predict a button masher. They are unpredictable to me because they fight the air. Sometimes I pretend to be a button masher for a little bit of mind games :-D ALso, Controller slipping from my lap. And my room is hot, no AC, its like a sauna with the xb360 :p

I lose because I don't adjust to how people fight me some times I look to go after people so much that it leave me open to direct attack myself many times. Blaming it on anything else for me is pointless as far as I am concerned.

Reasons people say they lose to me:
(From actual messages or over the mic...)

-Lag (because, you know, lag is always one-sided)
-Pai has an unfair advantage over insert losing character here (yes, VF is infamous for being unbalanced)
-"Stupid Gaijin" (yep, verbatim from XBL message)
-That charge kick is un-evadable. (if that were true I'd have been king of VFDC!)
-I use the same moves over and over. (wouldn't that help you to outguess me?)
-I don't "play fair." (WTF, like I am using gameshark)

Reasons why I think I lose:
(since the thread evolved past the original question)

-on rare occasion a connection hiccup caused my input not to register.
-I play the opponent more than the character, so when I change opponents, I have to adapt to someone completely new, and I don't do it quickly enough.
-I try to be tricky in lieu of having solid fundamentals.
-People finally figure out they can insert a P between my tap-throws
-I still haven't figured out where to insert a P into certain Lei Fei repetitions.
-I try to reverse mids too often.
-I have no idea how to beat any decent Jeff with Pai. People try to explain it to me and I am just dense about it.
-Eileen and Blaze go completely against what I have come to expect of VF characters over the past 15 years, no matter how many times I see the same things over and over again.

Notice that on both lists I'm at fault. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Earlier on this thread I said that lag was the main reason that I loose. Ive been bitching alot lately about lag and stop playing friends sometimes in player match because of the lag. It has been unbearable. But I found out a couple of days ago that its actually MY XBOX. I have a damaged ethernet port and have to trade my XBox in for another one. I dont know just how long it's been screwed up. I know at one time I was progressing pretty good and then slowly fell off. So meanwhile I modded my stick and Im still playing until they Come For My 360.

Good eileens and el blaze's give me fits as well because the best of them get me with so many counter hits that it drives me nuts (el blaze mainly) I can't use my offensive minded style against them at all and if I hold back they throw me all over the place like being stuck in a rock and a hard place. Kage does it to me too, my inability to adjust to kage and the crazy stuff he does drives me nuts all the time and the only one I blame for it is myself.

I hate blaze too being a Pai player. I think its cuz Blaze fights in Pai's best range which is up close. Plus he has some great moves too play the spacing game. Akira gets under my skin! His rush down is too good. Since i'm not too good at beaking grabs in this game yet he easily gets to me. I asked Konjou why Pai owns Akira and his response was to work on my mix ups. I figured he'd say that. I must man up and agree with my rival Blood Red who constantly complains about my lust for Top Teir characters. She does give me a little armor when fighting good players who use weaker characters. Im guessin it's just matchup thats givin me problems I really find my self suprised when I see new Blaze tactics. I hear blae has to stay into be most effective. Hey maybe we need a bad match ups thread?

Excuses people have made when I've beat them:

1. I'm cheap ("You are so fucking cheap, dirty Brit" - I forget the name of the guy who sent me this message, but it's word for word, and I remember he was from California).
2. Pai is cheap.
3. I used a move twice in succession.
4. I used a move too often/only used 2 or 3 moves.
5. I ground stomped them.
6. I threw too much.
7. They didn't like my style (that one always makes me laugh).
8. I got lucky.
9. I'm sad ("All you can do in life is play this game, now that's sad, if I knew where you lived I'd kick ur ass" /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif - again, I forget the guy's name, but his profile said Canada).

And probably the only legitimate one:
10. Lag (although when it's noticeably laggy, nothing I try to do ever works).

There are a few reasons why I don't play my best sometimes, but I never make excuses when I lose 'cos I always think that the other person won't believe me.

1. I'm tired and my brain isn't working properly (I can't think fast enough and I usually end up repeating myself).
2. I'm drunk (I know I suck when I'm drunk, but for some reason it's so much fun. Not that I don't enjoy playing when I'm sober, I just find online games hilarious after a few drinks, especially vf).
3. I know that the person I'm about to play is really good and I panic (I either freeze up or input commands too fast).
4. I'm about to get promoted or demoted and I panic.
5. I haven't played in a while and I'm rusty.

There's been a few times where I've played someone from vfdc and one of the above has applied, and I've been really tempted to make my excuses, but I don't want to come across as a sore loser.
However you phrase them, excuses always sound really lame.

I get accused of using the same moves a lot, after I get wins. It's not my fault these guys aren't defending after they tech roll /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

You don't have to tech roll you they can alway stay down once in a while or roll backwards instead. The excuses they come up with really amuse me sometimes

Isn't the point of playing game to mix it up so the enemy can't see what you are doing easily. Is this person an idiot or something.

I never hear anybody utter any reasons for losing. In fact the only people who talk to me always say good game or something. However I sometimes blame my loses on either lag+button mashing lightwieght, my controller d-pad goes awall/messes up on me, or They was simply outplayed me.

I blame all my losses, either directly or inderectly, on leprachauns. there is really no other explanation.

Anyone who says the ONLY reason the lose is cause of lag is saying "Without lag i can beat anyone"

Reasons I lose.

1: Angry people talk trash to me and i get annoyed, like "Soulkatana" I beat him 4 times in a row and he says "Go and play tekken" beats me twice with some cheese, talks trash some more then leaves, the guy was on my friends list, but he then deletes me. lol Good job.

2: Im trying a new character so i'm bound to be learning, i just started with lau after using, wolf, goh, jacky, shun, and a bit of brad. I've found lau to be the most offensive style i've played so im still learning not to turtle as much.

3: Someone is better than me, I've faced a few people who are just plain better than me faced J6Com a few times and he slapped me around and left, can't blame him, although im a lot better now, i hope.

4: It's not me playing it's my brother or nephew.

I've found that lag doesn't really effect me too much, both players are likely to be having the same lag, if they beat you they're more adaptable (Or used) to lag, They may be a lot better or worse than you but in lag it's hard to tell.

5: I face a really cheap player and i'm not accustomed to countering it, like a DM throw wolf, took a while to get the timing right but i can now throw him before he can get me.

But the number one reason why everyone loses is because of their own fault, you can't blame other players cause they're better or cheap, in the end it's you who couldn't cope with their style.
