These answers don't take account about VF4 as I have yet to play this game (my local arcade has it since two weeks but is lazy to activate the cabinet. >:)

    "Easiest to learn"
-Sarah is easier for beginner. My little cousins are more confortable with Jacky but a girl like mastering Lau even though he requires a lot of skill.

    "Hardest to learn"
-Shun Di. His fighting skill requires a lot of attention and player should know what he's doing.

    "Most powerful"
-Tie with Akira and Takaharashi(the first character I've played in VF3. It tooks a while to pratice with him and got nine streaks).

    "Quickest"
-. Pai is one of my favorite character I often use due to her quick attacks and throw.

This is how I play Akira with TS:

    1. Abuse Singlepalms and use a little of m-dblplm.
The sglplm is an awesome "poke", alternate between sglplms
    and DE/SDE.

    2. BCD after a poke has been blocked, punish with
sgl/dblplms/shldram if you opponent tries to poke/throw
you. CD to throw if your opponent is waiting for your
sglplm. Long range/fast mid-levels and low throws will get
you if you BCD, slower mid-levels can be blocked though,
you can rapid BCD or ECD if you dare.

All in all, I think Akira's advantage lies in the range of
his sglplm, I might be imagining things but I think sglplm
has got a longer range in VF4 compared to VF3.

I'm surprised KAge is the subject here.

Kage is not the most powerful and as hightlighted have many weakness to his disavantage. But i stress again that you dun need to use 100% of each character's move to be effective.

It's a shame to see someone criticise any character to such extreme. :p

For anyone who has been using Kage as a primary character, I can feel their pain. The fact is Kage has really been tweaked quite a bit by AM3, not necessarily for the better.

    Nitpicking... but, it's AM2.

I recently dropped Kage as my primary character after much handwringing.

Kyasao IS ranked #1...so maybe there's still hope.

I heard that Jacky ranked the highest in the no. of wins in Japan.

So next time if i visit an Arcade and lost to a Jacky, do i say " Hey, that Jacky is the most powerful character, so it's no shame losing to him cos he has got an advantage ". This game is fair and square. If you start VF series from 4 onwards you wouldn't have found these flaws in him. The in-effectiveness to RO is not a major issue. In fact the ability to easily RO opponent only shows the "advantage" he has in previous series.

C'mon, if you arent able to master any character and use it to your advantage, it's not the character's fault.
