I usually always use Sarah, I like the moves she has, specifically in VF3/VF4, My favorite moves when controlling her are the heel kick->moonsault.

    Aoi and Lion (Sort of?)

I am looking to join an Aikido Dojo (even though it's a 'toned down' version of Aiki-Jujutsu) just because Aoi's fighting style is so freakin' awesome. Something about manipulating other with a simple wrist lock I guess.

Lion is cool and all but I just see him as a casual character to use if I want to mix things up.

"Which character's style do you like the most?"

If you mean gameplay, I would say that today, my fav. character is Aoi and I think it's the most interesting character to play, although I guess one have to master any other character to make good use of all her counter moves.

But you see, it's not exactly the way I chose my character.

I played Lion since VF2 (over ten years)I chose him because he looked so cool!! (Yeah I really did even if he looked more like a big colorful polygon as a mantis) And I had so much to learn to master him, that I couldn't even imagine training with any another character.

That's why I was happy to find out a new character in VF5 that I liked more than Lion: Eileen. She just looks so dangerously cute and I like her movelist too!

So Eileen became my main and since I improved a lot with her in the last 8 months, I started slowly to train with Aoi.

So actually, my personal ranking is:
    1-Eileen (looks good, interesting gameplay)
    2-Aoi (awesome cancel/throw/counter gameplay)
3-Lion (poor forgotten little boy [IMG] )

Which character would you like to use the most if you didn't have to worry about the learning curve associated with their character?

To me, this question is simple to answer:

I never worry about the learning curve associated with any character. I like the character? I train! I just got lucky that the character design I liked were combined with interesting moves. But when I train seriously with one character, I can't switch easily.

But honestly, I would like to play Shun sometimes, just to ridiculize my opponents, drinking all the time sitting on the floor watching the fighter before me getting upset ^___^

I can't take Lion seriously, but perhaps that's because I am a knucklehead.
His mantis style is cool, but if you play as him you have to weigh up the pain of listening to his victory taunts. Its a hard choice.

When I played Virtua Fighter 2 on the Saturn, Lau was my man, really got inot his fighting style. Sarah was my second fave, with her massive flying kicks.
I still like Lau, he's deadly but you really have to know his move set to truly exploit his talents (and yours). He also looks awesome. All that's missing is a Lan Di costume.

When I played VF5, I ended up going for Pai in a big way (VF2 I never entirely settled on her), she just flows naturally for me. When I'm playing as Pai, anything is possible, I've managed to go toe-to-toe with skilled players with her.
Its not just her silky move set that appeals, though, she's uber sexy and has some of the best outfits (my fave custom is the silvery and black pants and top with the green chinese hat, with whip lol).

Aoi gets a high score from me, to. Love her move set, find her very adaptable and very strategic, slow and methodical (in contrast with the fast combos I go with when using Pai and Lau). She's very different from most female fighting characters, with the aura of an intelligent, refined woman. She oozes coolness.

Eileen is definitely a favourite, too. Love her "cheeky monkey" persona and her fast, tricksy moves.

Actually, alot of characters I have never truly got to grips with so maybe they will win me over in the future. Wolf I am finding pretty fun and El Blaze I am really enjoying.

    My top 5 would be:
    1. Pai Chan
    2. Aoi Umenokoji
    3. Eileen
    4. Lau Chan
    5. El Blaze

When i started playing VF1 i started with Pai and Sarah and never looked back to be honest.

But saying that i do like using everyone specially Aoi at times.

Not interested in tiers and stuff so longs the characters can be maxed out any character can beat anyone.

i used to use Aoi, and am trying to learn her style again so i can use her more in VF5. now, i main Lion and use Jeffry as a secondary, although i'm leaning more towards Jeffry as a main whenever i dominate with him, which is happening more and more frequently (of course, i'm still not that good :p).

Lion, for me, is really fun to use. if you're sneaky enough and can mix up high/mid and low very quickly, he's incredible. i kind of ignore his little victory taunts because he does sound kinda gay (no offense to gay people who could get offended by that).

The most fun I would say is the type of character that isn't just limited to one fighting style, but having the privilege to switch between two or more. Vanessa seem to be the most well done for this, if I'm not mistaken.

However, that's not enough to me, because my preference is to have an interest for all of the characters and this game has that.

I always prefer characters with many options and played Vanessa for a long time. Also Lei Fei, I don't like his stances and offensive style as much now.

I've settled for Shun Di as a main. I really think his style is amazing. He can go from a poke and keep away turtle style and explode into a flurry of blows in a split second, especially with drinks. I love mixing it up and keeping people guessing, even just throwing some random shit in there from time to time, if I don't know what I'll do next, how can they ?

He's also good at taunting people and tricking them into making mistakes. It's like he can suck people into his own game if they take the bait. The guy is like he doesn't have bones, just a random bundle of rubber and you never know what comes out of it. No other character can put pressure on an opponent by lying down and having a drink. Most importantly I have the most fun playing as him.

Akira is someone I'd like to know how to play, so aggressive and powerful and ANGRY. Just can't get his inputs down.

    RESURRECTION!

I actually play the characters whose style I like most, but lets say she wasn't there. Pai, Sarah, Aoi, Brad would probably be the characters I'd like to play if I was as good with them as my main.

I most strongly prefer the style of my favourite and most often-used character, Kage-Maru. I'm a sucker for ninja, as you might be able to tell.

From the respect angle, I am especially on my guard against Akira and Lau players, so I suppose they'll be highly considered, once I have more of a mastery over Kage (besides a fighting stick).

I remember trying to progress with Sarah and Jacky as I was getting to know Kage, which was a silly mistake. I think your first character should demand all your attention until you have a decent handle on all or most of the associated moves. I've since tested them both out, and while Jacky feels more natural to me than Sarah, Pai Chan and Eileen beat them both out. One of them will probably be the character I develop next.

A little further down the line is Aoi, in terms of whom I will learn, but up there with Akira and Lau, when it comes to style. I admire defensive characters, and Aoi's reversal-heavy aikido technique keeps me on my toes and forces me to think outside the box with strings and tricks that are different from my usual rhythm.

    So... yeah.

The only reason I started to play Virtua Fighter was because they had Jeet kune-do. So that'd make Jacky my favorite character.

Then I started to get into Ninjitsu. In real life and the game. It still amazes me how detailed the fighting system is. Also another big reason I got into VF.
