Who's gonna get SSF2T?

This is true... ST Ken is not considered to be very powerful at all. This strong dragon punch issue is some kind of glitch that made it into the beta.

Basically what happens is: If they jump in at you you can knock them out of the air with a jab dragon punch and then juggle them with another strong dragon punch for more than half their life...

    Here's a vid...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCseWmfIjzU

They claim it has already been taken out, which is a good thing. Watch the vid and you can see how bad it would have been. Thank god they caught this. However, if the other characters aren't ever beta-tested how will they figure out if there is anything else like this in the game.

I assume this is some kind of glitch that arose when they were rebalancing Ken for Remix mode. They wanted his Dragon Punch to juggle so you always got the full number of hits. But the juggle must have been something that arose from the change in the move...

Regardless, the damage is going to be pretty high all around in this game...

To be fair, they really couldn't add more frames. File size restrictions and hitbox issues made that kind of thing impossible.

When you see the game you will understand... It's almost like, what's the point of re-drawing EVERY sprite if the animation is still gonna look like it came from 1993??? You can have the coolest looking sprites of all time and they'll still look bad animating the way they do now. It's nice and all but it doesn't make a HUGE difference...

    Just my humble opinion...

But it does though, even the way an actual moves looks in comparison to another move in the characters moveset does.

The thing about adding animation frames was discussed more indepth over at SRK some time back.

One thing I will give it is that there are a lot of little finishing effects that are cool and do add some flavor... The best example I can think of from the beta is the fireballs have this very cool, subtle light-trail that follows in their wake, it actually looks pretty neat the way they did it.

A lot of the special moves have new little lighting effects and other graphical additions that aren't really related to the frames or sprites that do spice up the action a little...

I know for a fact however that the new sprites were drawn into the exact same hit-boxes from the original Dreamcast version of the game... Some of the moves are tweaked and what not but the original hit-boxes are still the same... The new sprites just fill them up a little more.

Sirlin said when he tried to remove the hit effects, like the little flashes and explosions when the moves connect, the game looked completely messed up. I guess the way the hit-boxes were made originally, they need the hit effects or it looks like they aren't hitting at all... He took them out but put them right back in when he saw how it looked.

I plan on getting it, it'll at least hold me over in the 2D world until SF IV and (to a lesser extent...)BlazBlue come out.

I'm so going to get it when its availible.

I even toyed with getting that Commando game, just for the Beta, but common sense won out in the end. If the Betas out, surely release isn't far away.

    Be patient. Cammy awaits!

I have seen it. I'm just not surprised that they added no frames when they said from the outset that they weren't able to do so. If they did the exact same treatment to SF3, it'd look better, but it'd still ultimately be equally pointless. (Meaning it'd still play the same.)

IMO, it's better to think of the remix as testing the waters for the level of interest in the development of future HD 2d fighters than to think of the game as something really intended to be a fresh new standalone game. If it sells, that shows Capcom that a market's there. If not, oh well. Not much risked on their part.

As long as Cammy gets beefed up or not, then I'm fine. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Did anyone try to parry a attack while playing the BETA? LOL, I did. Still upset the game didn't include new frames(This is the remix)But whatever. Any word on when this game is coming out. Because it looks like I'll be getting SFIV first, then ST2THD. Sirlin, get this popping already....I blame MS on the whole file situation for causing such a delay.

I think I'm looking forward to this a bit more than SFIV. The beta shows they've got a lot of work to do still, but it's been fun playing with Ken's magic dragon punch!

Sadly the beta is running for two months, so I don't think we're going to see the full version until at least October.

The holdup is that they had to re-do the original artwork planned from scratch. The first bit of artwork was very detailed but didn't look so good while in motion.

The could've added frame but this capcom were talking about here. Why add new fucking frames? You be changing the game all around. All they did was just redrawn the sprites for HD.

Techically Hitboxes don't add to Memory. If you ever Create a character Mugen you know that the most minute thing in the data.
This Remix reminds me of Hakuto No Ken Arcade or any othe Arc system game. Beautiful Sprites with half ass animations. This is SS2T so after watching the video it still never bothered me about the sprites not having 14 frame per move like SF3.
