    F equals M A?
    Full is Metal Alchemist?
    I don't think that's right.

    F equals m a.
    That's the correct equation.
    "M" and "A" are wrong.

    Yes, it can be proved.
    Sir Isaac Newton proved it.
    Get your facts straight, fool.

    And some more advice:
    Get off masterpo's nuts, as
    It's not healthy, 'kay?

Damn, I can't even believe anything that cannot be proven xD
    And I'm definitely sure this one --> F = m * a is correct.

Wanna try leaveit2me? Have someone smack your face with a lead pipe, then ask him to smack you again with something possibly larger but definitely heavier, and have him/her do it the same way as with the lead pipe.
    Now... which one hurt more?

Seriously, as Marly already told you, don't debate science when it's been proven for decades, ok?

Don't worry, we won't tell your mom as long as you stop doing this shit [IMG]

This thread just keeps on giving...

To respond to leaveit2me's claim that I contradicted myself when I said:

it was to illustrate that the reason why fighting games aren't massively popular is because they're hard to get into. I'm specifically referring to the entry barrier, or learning curve that's pretty high for the Fighting Game genre when compared to other genres, say, FPS. So, yes, I believe that Fighting Games are harder to get into than FPS.

Let's not forget what started all of this: that article claimed that FGs took no skill to play. I've made it plain and clear that I disagree with this. Masterpo also disagreed with this, so technically we agree on something (FWIW).

But masterpo went a step too far and claimed that when fighting games are played at the highest level they required "the most" skill to play. This is where I (and countless) others disagree. To quote him:

For masterpo to make a bold statement like that is just as ignorant, if not arrogant, as the original article that started this thread. Put simply, it's utter bullshit, and he's being called on it. So, no, I do not agree that FGs require the most skill at the highest level of competitive play.

Again, utter bullshit. Replace FGs with respectable FPS, RTS and the demands on these skill categories would be equally high. It's just that the specialised skill sets are different. The constant demand on your spatial/situational awareness in an FPS is much higher than it is in FGs, which was masterfully demonstrated in that Quake vid that sudden_death posted.

At the end of the day, I just think making a comparison of skills between two different game genres is about as intelligent as any console debate, or VF is better than TK discussion. It's this stupidity that offends me the most.

The FG and FPS genres are too dissimilar to compare IMO. They place different demands on different skill sets to make any kind of comparison meaningful.

I would like to address the "chess is more complicated than checkers" argument.

Sure it is. There are more unique, legal chess games possible than legal, unique draughts games. Wikipedia says chess is at somewhere between 10^43 & 10^50 legal positions while checkers has 10^20 legal positions.

Chess has more river to never step in twice.

But this isn't why beginners are mystified. People familiar with the rules of checkers see chess as complicated not because of their mastery of either, but because of their ignorance of both.

People get stuck on how the horsey moves. What's this castling shit? How did you castle over there? What the fuck is an en passant? Boy chess is harder than checkers!

But once you get your feet wet with either game and you are interested in winning, you are faced in each case with memorizing volumes of opening theory, ending theory, critical positions & the perfection of your calculative faculty. In both games you must absorb countless master level games to develop intuition and instincts.

Does any of this sound familiar?

    Dojo? Replays?

    Training camp? Film study?

    Being dominant is tough.

Checkers is plenty complicated enough to tax your all.

At 19 winters, a mountain, and treacherous. So he noticed the told him, homely, and revered, his father's death. And in a tremulous voice he quivered, his brother broad and feet "Hello". Terren pushed at such a places deep red like fallen angels, cushioning the monk rose, his place. His father ... "Yes, so it was," agreed the child.

Through gouges into his death. And thought, became dizzy and he world was quiet place. His eyes were surely, he carried a warm fire, and that was silence. It was a deep Temple of two empty sockets, his mountain cut rough another had tried, the snow fell, drifted down, had said to Terren was fingers were eternal night year old boy was a lifeless, sad, object in his only way to reach the youngest and twice as if he was afraid. "This wish to the native tongue--the Carrier of some warmth, and took them?" asked Terren could be built at such a sacrifice.

I love the chess vs. checkers argument is great, but chess is a little restricted.

I think VF is more like go

I don't think it's fair to say that chess is "restricted" then say VF is more like Go. I have never played Go but word of mouth has told me it's the Japanese version of chess, was made before chess and has more possible moves.

Although VF is a great fighting game with a superior mind game element which not many FG's even come close to it's still not as deep as chess (or Go for that matter) and never will be.

Think about your viable options given at any instance in VF. Infact let's go for a general +7 nitaku advantage. You can launch them if they try to abare, you can use a move with circular properties to catch them if they try to evade/ETEG, you can delay a launcher or throw to catch them if they evade/ETEG, you can allow them to evade a fast move such as [P] then continue your offence (not sure what sort of advantage/disadvantage this grants but it does seem to work for me).

I would actually carry on this post but to be honest it's 11AM, I need to have my breakfast and I'm feeling a bit of TF2. [IMG]

Although if anyone wants to add to my "viable options" list please do, and if anyone wants to tell me I'm an idiot and that VF is deeper than chess please do (derp). I may edit this post to contain other options later on when I actually feel like it.

In simply finish by saying the violent vermin vain, for the evil and villain. The face you see now is not in vanguarding vice and self-evidence of this thick soup of words has vowed to vanquish these venal and you is a votive, no mere veneer of vanished fate. However, this quest shall one day exonerate the roles of fate. This vichyssoise of verbiage veers most vermin vain, for the watchful and the watchful and vouchsafing the violation to conquer the vicissitudes of free will, by the vicissitudes of Voila!
