Working out a Story Mode

oh i dindnt mean there was two differnt vansessas but she has two differnt canons one with no lewis where she was all ways a bodygaurd and j6 taks her makes v dural and then leaves her in sarahs house priror to jackys acident (see how it messes up the story completly )

also i really do want all the characters fleashed out but i get what ur saying
and i dont want to go the blazblue way ( give everyone a story) because it over complecates everything
they should go the sonic adventure 2 route and make a dark and hero story
with dark being every one directly affected ( or kidnapped by j6 ) like vane goh and jean eva onimaru kage maybe
also with should use the lewis canon so vanesa goh and jean can interact
and a hero side with every one else

 

Ah, I see. I vaguely remember something like that, but I think Vanessa being rescued from J6 gives her a lot more depth.

I do feel like Akira deserves more fleshing out though, since he is technically the main character of VF. Maybe take another page from the anime and have him find his "true strength" through helping fight against J6. Not exactly original, but I think it fits the lesson he needs to learn.

But this is just my amalgam of all five games. If there is a sixth game with a story mode, I can only imagine it needs to be a continuation rather than a retelling. It's a bit hard to predict where the plot is supposed to be going though. My best guess is the fighters start taking the battle to J6 instead of just waiting around for J6 to target them.

A bunch of people go into a tournament and punch each other in the face for money.

 

The story line should follow Judgment 6 (J6). J6 is likely a continuation of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Its an ancient story of murder, rape and bloodline revenge and one day fulfilling obligations of the Bushido code by ancient families that now make up J6. Tsukikage has a connection with the Arashi family. A kunoichi and ninja were involved in assassination ordered by the Tokugawa Shogunate. Oaths were broken. Deception was at hand. Aoi Umenokouji's entire bloodline suffered dishonor. The revenge, deception, and hatred, ultimately played out in the War of Jiawu as it is known in China or Japan-Qing War as it in know in Japan. The Shaolin temple did not go unpunished. Debts will be paid, no quarter shown, and honor must be restored. Martial arts secrets of the Yuki family were stolen. Tokugawa ninjas are blamed. Royal children are hidden in the West to escape retribution. J6 with it bloodline ties to the Tokugawa Shogunate is now a multinational corporation that uses good-will-ambassador martial arts tournaments as a front for international espionage and revenge. J6 is currently engaged in a hostile take over of the Mishima family corporation using the DOATECH corporation in the ultimate betrayal. Battle lines are drawn.

Seriously VF's "story" has become less and less visible through the years, do you really think Sega/AM2 would ever put the slightest effort in writing when they can't ever make a fighting game correctly anymore?

Well, its not inconsistent with the formal story of Virtua Fighter and there is no reason
we can't flesh the story out our selves. Its done all the time. LOL.

We could put together our own Manga. Why not? I know we have the talent on VFDC. Hell, I think there is enough talent on VFDC to put together a full fledged anime.
Even if VF5FS is the last console version that Sega releases we could still evolve the story in Manga or anime form.

I could help flesh out eileen's story based on her bio, her intro statements and win statements. Along with the kinds of things she tends to say in the fights. All that kind of gives me info about what kind of person she is and how she would probably react to situations.

Yeah man I do, I just can't type them out right now. If you give me a few weeks though, I'll be able to write something. My idea basically is that Eileen is traveling to find pai from her opera troop so she should be trying to find pai, and each person she meets from the tournament she prob harasses, Sakura style (like how she was for where can i find ryu). She's kinda erratic and people tend to take her lightly because of her age, so she'd probably got a little insecurity around that stuff. When she find's Pai, she'll prob stay around her for the rest of the tournament/story and do whatever she does.

 

I also just thought about her tragic backstory. We don't know jack about her parents and why she was living with her gpa who also died. I think if part of her story line in the tournament leads to her learning that J6 was a part of her parents getting killed that would make her story more relevant to the overall plot. Depending on how evil we want Jean/Goh to be, one of them could be the one who killed her parents too. This would kind of be like Chun-li's quest to fuck up bison for killing her parents, except eileen got over the death while chun never did.

thats actually really good i didnt think of eileel like that. i think both goh and jean should kill eileens parents ( i want them to be an evil duo) we should show how strong eileen is as a character by having her recognize that goh and jean are brainwashed and not seek revenge

 

I think each character should have their own individual story for Arcade Mode. Don't get me wrong, I like MK9, but the story time for a character in that type of segment is not enough. I personally would look at Tekken 5's perspective.

 

Exactly. She's not one who would seek revenge. She's the type to try and save jean/goh. For Jean, eileen could enlist the help of Lion since jean and lion are hommies in their past.
