    SNK were their own worst problem...

    I wont lie, I like DOA, I used to really like it, but it has always paled in comparison to VF. They really wouldnt mix well in a VS game in my opinion.

    A Megamix type game with proper Sega game characters like Spikeout, VF and Streets of Rage characters would be best. But only because thats just what I want.

    not sure who said vanilla 5 is just ok to play with.

    I'm pretty sure the rest of the world outside japan want to play VF FS but there's no reason to be motivated for it.

    Final tuned never came to console 5R didn't either so sega are just pissing in the wind with there fans so nobody has any reason bothering with hope if they have no answer for FS

    All i know is Tekkentag2 3s online & SF X Tekken are coming soon by then most people will turn there back and say it's ok Sega allow your game.

    As too the poster above all DOA need to do is just remake DOAU2 and put it back online for a 360 version or make DOA3 on arcade live

    Its not that VF itself needs saving, but VF's reputation. Especially the reputation among game reviewers, pundits, etc.
    It use to be the case that whenever anybody, magazine, reviewer, pundit talked about a fighting game, everyone agreed that VF was #1. It was just a consensus. Now, VF is being mentioned less and less and as far as the commentators are concerned lessor games are getting credit for the top spot.

    Sure those of us who are die hards know the deal, but VF is fading from the scene in terms of mindshare and reputation. Tekken used to show a little humility in its advertising because it Namco knew that a new VF would always be a threat. Now even Namco puts Tekken up as the best fighting game on the planet, with no fear or reprisal from Virtua Fighter.

    No., you're right VF does not need saving, but VF's reputation does [IMG]

    @masterpo,

    I totally agree with you. And for that reason I think a VF vs DOA is a great idea in a sense that it will keep VF in the minds of lots of gamers.

    When I said VF and DOA are very close, I didn't mean system-wise. I meant they are both (unlike tekken) share the aspect of real martial arts even if it's a bit exaggerated.

    I believe if SEGA announce a vs series between the two and make it a tag-team based, lots of players will be hyped about it. SEGA should make a watered down blend between both VF and DOAs system so that casual players will enjoy it while reserving both games identity. Plus, slap in some crazy story just to give the VF characters more personality so that people will associate with will be of a great help in selling new VF games in the future.

    I think if SEGA did the above by announcing it in some type of event followed by an announcement of VF5FS as a $9.99 DLC and charging for some special costumes, items etc... will see better sales for VF and will make it successful product on console.
