LOL.... beat CMoney five matches in row and he disco'd. I am starting to wonder how many legit golden ranks there are?

CMoney's match with me has degraded to a pretty pitiful display. I am not exaggerating when I say this, HE DOESN'T ADVANCE ON ME, EVER! I've never seen someone so terrified of attacking me.

There aren't many legit gold ranked players in this game. CMoney is definitely not a legit gold ranked player. Many players that are at least a Darkslayer will safely rank up by beating lower echelon titled ranks because they see those players as being inferior in skill, which they usually are.

CMoney kept challenging me (I'm a Barbarian) a couple of days ago after he beat me, even though there were a few Tigerclaw+ players on at the time. It seems like a lot of high ranking players have a covenant not to compete (against each other) and instead hunt lower ranked players. One does have to respect their patience and dedication, because it must take a crap load of games for a Tigerclaw to rank up if they only fight Raiders.

I was just playing him on there. I can't call it. Connection was OK (take it he is in the US?). Because Lau hits so hard, you just have to play careful, and not get tagged with the 9K he likes to use to come back in. He doesn't really use the guard-break or Kokei much at all. Any launch he gets is just PPP2K... never seen him do stuff with 3KPP for example, or the ST throw. I think he has a chef outfit. but often just uses default... never "disco'd" (love this term haha) on me though whenever I managed to beat him.

EDIT: I actually piggybacked off him to rank-up this evening, lol - It's often all about the match-ups... I was trying to beat him before using Shun, but no dice. Pai however has the speed and combo-throws ;)

It's the few repeat offenders on there now when you go into the match with a full green block, and then in-game you can barely move for lag that's really starting to irritate me. Maybe next-gen there should be a minimum ping or line-speed for some games...

Cmoney's style is to whiff punish it may be annoying, but it's a legit style. He's changes it up against shun players who take advantage of those drinks id imagine & rightfully so. He likes to wait you out- look for your mistakes, instead of engaging in the fight which is ma weakness. As for his gold rank? Well he does have a bunch of games under his belt like over 1500 so...

Besides the unpleasant origin of this quote, is there a thread announcing these laid back Euro rooms on XBLive? I am currently trying to get into the game, particpation in such player match lobbies would surely be beneficial to step up... although I need to mentally prepare myself for the upcoming losses ;-)

Send me a friend request over Live, and I'll see what can be arranged. There's no fixed co-ordination right now, but the more good connection tags you add, the more likely it is to get a nice 4 to 5 slot room going in the evenings. Jeff players always most welcome, vielen dank ;)

Talking about Cmoney, I played with him like +15 times last night. I lost them all
There were some other higher ranked fellas in the list .Mostly TigerClaws, Guardians, and a DarkSlayer, but it seems he picked me (I just made it to Hunter, lol). I don't mind it, tho. In fact, I'm glad he picked me. Learned some stuff about Lau, although I need to study his frame data and see how to punish him correctly.
Anyway, some of the fights were really tight 3-2 (on his favor, ofc). I enjoyed the ride, even with some of the 'excellents' rounds I ate xD

You're gonna find that as some guys get to higher ranks, they're going to cherrypick a bit more to preserve their rank. I guess it's an ego thing.

HungTadpole010 DC'ed as I was about to win. The funny thing was he was complaining the whole match about Blaze being a terrible character because he's light weight, which was odd since I was using Blaze at the time.

CMoney is really not bad. I think that he may be annoying to people for a few reasons:

    1) The whiff punishing... He does like to make you attack. I don't personally find this as annoying as the backdash-> spam strings technique so beloved by Shun, Lei etc... but it can be annoying.

    2) I think that he's a pad player so this might have something to do with his low dex. on combos. Still, it's a little weird to see people diss an opponent for not using harder combos. (?) There seems to be some form of hating going on.

In the past he fought me a lot despite my having a very high win % against him. They were pretty fun matches. He does adapt and you have to adapt to his adjustments or he will turn it around; he isn't a mindless spammer or anything.

His rank may be higher than it should be, but he has played like 30000 matches or some crazy shit like that. He is sort of like Hurricane Strain used to be. He isn't a rank mode bitch like that shit Pai-player in Hawaii or a like that Canadian Akira in his igloo spamming evade --> shoulder over a DSL line.

Cmoney: Nothing against the guy; he's a cool guy...we play a lot, and it's usually in the Ranked hopper. And, yes, he is a rank whore. He actually thinks his rank has meaning. But, hey, to each their own.

Cmoney is annoying because he will play you all day if he wins, but as soon as you go on win streak he will drop from a match.

Which to me is the leading definition of a BAD GAMER
So he goes into that bucket of I will never play again. Joining Dention

I have beaten him a lot and he never DC'ed. Obviously he shouldn't do that, but in my experience he should not be mentioned in the same breath as the dreaded disconnecting, lag-exploiting, backdashing/DMPK/2p loving Dention.

I think that CMoney's biggest weakness gameplay-wise is that he plays on a pad so he is not very good at dealing with small advatage/disadvantage. All pad players have this problem except Denkai who presses the buttons like a stick player. You can't really move your thumb off of guard and onto p or k as quickly as a stick player can just release g and press p or 6p or whatever. To deal with this handicap, pad players devise all sorts of distance or spammy strategies (e.g. evade attack, crush moves, backdash ---> spam strings... follow up with a magic property abare move if you are at disadvantage... above all, avoid allowing the game to turn into a contest of reacting to small advantage situations). At least dmpk is gone...

These strategies are annoying, but they are actually pretty logical when you think if the handicap of playing on a pad.
